I've never understood how you can play with 12 buttons on the side of your mouse. Seems like I would loose my thumb on the buttons lol

@@acidbleedingalien after an hour you'll love it. Actually only use front 3 and back 3 with the ring finger as action.

yeah, like wells for water bcome liteally impossible because auto-traverse doesnt turn off when you activated something, and then character just get on top of the well :D and a lot of other stuff like that that is way more convoluted

For the first day of open beta I was doing this constantly, to bad effect since it isn't in the game.

As DS said, the real estate/convenience of spacebar is totally wasted on something like jump. Just swap shift to jump and space to dodge.

@@Setanta93 I might be in the minority, but I prefer preserving the muscle memory of literally decades of game-playing, some of which will happen concurrently with my NW play, over the very minor advantage of using spacebar over a key such as left shift. I get the intention, but it seems counterproductive in a more broad sense.

@@TheBloodyPoint I mean I'm 29 and have been playing PC games since I was about 6, it's really not that hard to rebind shift and space, it's such a new game that you can't really be THAT used to it where a minor change like this early on will have such a detrimental effect. Of course there's no massive advantage to swapping these keys, it's just a nice QOL change since using thumb to roll is easier than baby finger repeatedly.

@@Setanta93 It has nothing to do with it being a new game, more the countless years of doing it the other/traditional way in other games, some of which will be played at the same time as New World. Shift is typically used from sprint, so most people will be used to pressing it anyway. Like I said, I get the impulse, but for many people, the cost outweighs the benefits. I've been doing it this way for...40 years, that's a lot of muscle-memory to work against for no real benefit. :) Again, it's not a bad thing to do, just pointing out that for some people, it would make things worse, not better, in a broader context, when playing other games while playing NW.

New World allows almost no double binds at all if you switch from default. Even fishing keys can't be bound to something that's already bound to another key outside of fishing mode.

@@DukeSloth I def think you should be able to bind the game as u want to. I was just messing with you because my american brain went the opposite direction.

Maybe don't assume that I don't know things because you don't know why I do things are certain way. Yes, unlocking your frame rate can decrease input delay. It can also introduce significant tearing and stutters when frames are inconsistent. This could be solved by vsync, but that would introduce even more delay. Frames in New World aren't very consistent and even unlocked, I rarely reach above 70 frames as of now. The decrease in input delay would be miniscule. On the other hand, my recording software is locked at 60 fps. The recording quality is significantly higher when the ingame frames match this frame rate and is reasonably consistent, which is achieved by locking to 60 fps. Next time, if you're wondering why somebody is doing something a certain way, consider if it would be better asking first instead of lecturing them right away. You may just learn something new.
