Square knot =. reef knot …. Left over right and under, right over left and under. Pull both ends. It works for different thicknesses of rope or thread.

Well this help a lot! I’ve been just making a regular knot to retread my serger and it usually breaks, so I’m trying this next time I change my thread on my serger. Thank you for sharing!
