In my opinion, this new SMC policy is making impossible for offshore candidate to apply and I don't think offshore will benefit from it UNLESS have: Valid job offer (which in some forum mentioned NZ employers prefers those who have valid visa already or locals) > or (Category 1: Qualification) Have Doctor's degree with equivalent NZ assessment to get 6 points or have NZ experience to fill up missing points if we only have bachelor degree (+job offer?) > or (Category 2: Income) Income which if I understand correctly is from NZ work experience as well and have NZ work experience to fill up the missing points (+job offer?) > or (Category 3: New Zealand Registration) Skills which is under the New Zealand Registration and have NZ work experience to fill up the missing points (+job offer?) For an AEWV or a Skilled Resident Visa, the job must be for an Accredited Employer.

Dear Praveer, The simple answer would be "NO,". What you have described are two different skill indicators under which one can claim points. For master's, 5 points can be claimed and for the $60 wage rate, 4 points can be claimed. One cannot combine the skill indicators. You can only claim points from 1 of the skill indicators. After doing masters, you become eligible for a 3-year post study visa. In those 3 years, you can meet the one-year Skilled Employment requirement for the remaining 1 point. Hope it helps. Dear Sir, According to the present information on the INZ website, they aim to process straightforward applications for Job Checks in 10 weekdays, excluding public holidays.
