›› This video is all about getting out of the negative cycle of pulling to fences. So I hired our local show venue and dared myself to ride to some big fences without pulling. I also included Dali's show rounds from last weekend as I didn't vlog it but I wanted to show you guys how he got on.

I am not an equestrian, but i grew up with horses on a small farm. I think a large reason why I follow you and have such admiration and respect for you Holly is how you conduct yourself. You are so open, genuine, kind, and really take the time to love your animals. I think it's super neat that you're a Vet, that you travel, that you found running. What I find so fun to watch is the progression of confidence, not only in yourself but your horses too. the best athletes are never satisfied. You tend to your horses' every need and yet you also allow them to be out and in a heard. I think what you and your dad (folks) are doing is brilliant and I couldn't applaud you more. Much love from the states. Keep doing you. Haters are always going to hate.

Why would you get not so nice comments??? Don't understand. You improved your horses so much. It has to be difficult to ride Dali and Khal on this level as they are so different, but you do it very well. Wish you the best💕🙋

Well ridden. In my experience negative comments are usually from poor riders. Good riders know how hard it is, and are loath to criticize.

It's so interesting to be able to see these 2 boys in action over the same course. They are, as you have said, SO different. Very different types of movement and mechanics over fences. Dali "see-saws" over fences, while Khal jumps like a cat. It's fascinating being able to compare.

I'm so sorry you had some not so nice comments. You are a fantastic rider, trainer, and overall horse person! You are quite brave to put yourself out there on KZfaq where everyone can share their opinions. The reality is, they are amazing horses, both on the ground and over jumps. That is NO accident, and they have you to thank for their successes!!

Jumping is such a mindset thing. Fact of that matter Holly is the brain believes everything you still it. So say good things about your accomplishments on Kal . The jumps are big and he has huge potential but both of you breaking new ground all the time so it’s not going to be perfect all the way but I will tell you it’s pretty darn good on both horses. You just need to be so proud of yourself 🤩. I love watching having done a lot of jumping in my time❤️.

I believe you definately achieved your goals - he was very forward and exactly what you both needed to make you feel better - great job! No matter what you are a very accomplished rider and your horses are proof of that - someone else ride Kahl - that is completely and utterly ridiculous:)))))))))))

That was super Holly! Kahl is a legend, he measures those fences so well and going on that forward stride really helps if he is just a bit out on a stride as he has the momentum to clear a fence. Looking forward to seeing your next competition.

Hahah loved your intro Holly. I think you're such an inspiration and so brave for putting your equestrian journey out there to the world! You've done an amazing job producing these horses from the ground up on your own, they are really a testament to your skills (even if you are feeling like a bad rider lately). Keep your chin up, and as my trainer used to tell me all the time, "just ride better" 😆

Hi Holly! I just finished watching you and Khal airborne over some [not small] fences (in a flipping windstorm, I should add) -- And it's got to feel to you like he's flying in between the fences, too. Wait - I just watched it a second time to be sure. And yup. You are, indeed, a rock star. That was quite a ride. I predict a wonderful season ahead for you and your guys. I'm going to go and watch the rest now. And oh -- Dad does hold the horses very well -- lol -- Hi, Dad! Best regards to all! JV

Those boots look great. I hope that they sell a cross country version. I think that what the keyboard warriors don't understand ist that you are seeking ways to get better and better at riding your horses. That you are just voicing this quest. Of course you can ride. Of course you have an instructor. Cheering you on from Australia 🌏🦘

I do think you achieved what you set out to achieve Holly. You and Cal looked great! Try to remember this: For every bad comment that you IGNORE (as you must), let your response be to give a shout out for two comments that lifted you 🙂. Don't let the only shout outs you give, even if negative, be the only shout outs you give as I am sure it gives the negative commentator a thrill to know they made you say something in your vlog ;-).

Love the rhythm, would absolutely love to see a lesson with your coach , it would be a learning experience for all your followers, the Irish are such great horse people and are proving it all over the world right now . Don't sell your horses holly , if you can, keep them and get to the 1.50 with both of them , and in my humble opinion stay on with the coaching for a while

jesus, Dali really went up a gear before the second to last fence, first time i've seen him with a bit of speed to him. He's coming on really well. Also fck the haters, no matter what you do you'll always get that, they probably haven't ever actually ridden or owned a horse even. And we all make mistakes, like you can't do everything perfectly, we're only human.

Great power riding, It always takes a bit to reprogramme the "dance" steps when returning to higher fences. The dance is different. As they say "see and ride it, if not, sit up and leg on.

The Khal and Holly Legends are back in sync -- woot woot, Holly. You've really got this sorted now, grrrl :) Btw, that switch back you did on Khal toward the end took my breath away -- I think you've been working on your turns and speed-round game too, eh? Cannot wait to see the video of next weekend's show with Khal and Dali both in the 135 -- you have brought those big loveable boys such a very long way. Of course, we do know your secret weapon is your groom, it's those little things, like holding the horses just the right way that really makes all the difference and is the true key to your uber success. (lol -- I just love seeing your funny, supportive Dad -- your banter always makes me smile :) Thanks so much for all you share.

No offense but…😂 Just kidding. ❤ Holly, you’re an amazing rider. You are not perfect but nobody is. That’s the beauty of our sport is that we are always learning and must never stop learning! Bad habits are so easy to get and riding can be so different from one horse to the other, one year to another as horses also evolve and/or devolve sometimes etc. So many variables !

I commented this on the other video but I really still think you should consider the adrenaline rush you faced during your last show. You were noticeably experiencing the side effects of an adrenaline rush when you were riding Khal, shaken-up, more tired, weren't thinking as clearly. If you were still recovering from the adrenaline of Dali's ride, which additionally your adrenaline was higher because its a smaller arena then you're used to and Dali is a huge horse, than that would explain a lot i think. Just something to consider, do you usually have more time in between rounds at your other shows? Sometimes there are external things you can't control and it does not mean in the slightest that you have worsened as a rider, I hate that you feel that way lol. Of course, never stop training though!
