This is a fantastic solution. Joez, trust me, this is a HUGE advantage for you compared to how things were before. Firstly because Jake gave up two 1st rounders and a veto that you would have had to deal with. But more importantly, now everyone is guaranteed (in each span of 6 episodes) two 1st round picks, two second round picks, and two third round picks. After that it is up to everyone to trade their draft capital for the season in the way they feel will give them the best chance to win the season. The playing field is officially even. This is huge. I am absolutely pumped for the next episode and official beginning of Season 1 of GUTS.

I like the idea worst performance gets best pick, creates more strategy with trades. There’s not enough trades happening just after the reveal. A lot of times if I had the 1st pic I’d trade down cause there’s a sleeper I think would be overlooked, I guess you’d be trading your 1st for the right to swap a future pick or two. Depends on the talent in the current draft. If you feel there’s no clear #1 and you’ve got the top pick sure trade all the way down for some swaps.

I am excited for when this gets completely screwed up five episodes in. Too bad there aren't computers in this age that could keep track of these kinds of things.

A few years ago I didn't know why they always fucked with Joez. The more I see of Joez behind the scenes...I get it.

I feel like Joez was really on to something. If draft picks are in the same order as the end of episode ranks then there is motivation to pick a good player to continue to get good draft picks and also motivation to trade to keep a high draft pick allowing both potential for the first pick to stay high and a low pick to get higher via trades. In the system of reverse order draft pick there is less motivation to win because if you lose you get a reward of a higher draft pick. Unless they include a prize at the end of a season to motivate winning at the expense of a draft pick rank which is how sports work. I think this is essentially what they were getting at. In this system you trade a claim to a high draft pick. So someone could trade a claim to a first pick which then the receiving side could strategically claim when they are third. In the system then ended on there’s not really a motivation to win unless there is a prize. Which I suppose the season aspect helps to establish a victor. Other than that there’s not as much motivation to when as Joez’ original idea where there would be motivation to win and to receive a high draft pick

When I was a kid watching GUTS, I never imagined that one day I would be watching three men on KZfaq debating on how to do picks and trades for different contestants on the show while each have a hand on an exercise ball. Life is wild.

Since it's six episodes in a season, you should switch up the relative positions in the second half of the season. E1 of the season draft order: Jake-1 Jimmy-2 Joez-3 E4 of the season draft order: Jake-1 Joez-2 Jimmy-3 That way, Joez doesn't get stuck drafting after Jimmy the whole season (besides when he has the 1 pick, of course).

salary system, based on points won from previous game. so however many points your kid scored last game is added to your bank, then start of each episode you can bid on your kid with your available points. winner gets the most points, but guy who gets last pick basically gets that kid for free, saving points for a future episode.

Throughout this entire back-and-forth and all of the confusion, while deals and plans are being hashed out while touching a giant ball, the only thing running through my mind is that Sam shouldn't have been there because she should have been suspended without pay for saying she didn't like Moira. Should have been a five-episode season. First four episodes scored on the Guts scale, with the final episode getting the Crag scoring. Drafting is done in reverse finish from the previous episode. Drafting of the final episode is done by the scores up to that point, with total wins as a tiebreaker. I don't know how you would do a playoff system with this.

I like the draft format and 6 episode seasons. I think that after each season though there should be a 1-episode championship game. The draft order for the championship game will be based on the results of the 6 episode season. If you finish 1st in the season, you draft 1st in the championship game. If you finish 2nd in the season, you draft 2nd in the championship game...and so on.

I feel like Joez was realllly selectively listening through that whole discussion. I agree that it sucked to see him and Zack stuck in endless 3rd picks so I thought this draft order was a good compromise, even if it largely shafted Jake. But it seems like he vaguely wanted a system that still rewarded him with more first round picks for coming first but somehow without any risk of losing capital? It’s not clear what he was trying to get. Seemed like he was looking for a have cake and eat it too ruleset.
