Changing the battery in a Panasonic electric shaver

Changing the rechargeable battery. This is a Panasonic ESLT41 electric shaver. The process is the same for several models. I purchased the battery from ebay. The battery model number is CS-PHQ190SL, PN 4222-036-11290. The original battery has studs on the end. This battery had metal tabs that will need to be bent to fit.

Thank you for making this video. I replaced my panasonic original battery with a 14500 li-ion battery without tabs and made a small spring with a paperclip and attached it to the negative terminal to complete the connection. As the video states the shaver will not turn on right away even though there is charge in the new battery. After plugging the shaver in and charging it, my panasonic shaver is working again. Thank you!

Your video was very helpful. I didn't need to replace my battery, but after 10 years of use, I had an issue with the shaver randomly turning itself on, and needed to inspect the internals. ES8109 for reference. Thank you!

I was having a problem finding a pin type battery replacement for my Panasonic Arc 4. After watching your video I realized I could use this same type of battery with the bendable tabs. Your video was very helpful in showing how to get to the battery compartment and replace the battery. Thank you!

Thats how i did it on my lv81 used a liIon 800mah solar light 14500 battery. Cost 3 dollars. Works perfect.

Thank you for this video! I have a one year old Panasonic ES-LV65-S shaver that is flaking out, with the battery dropping from 90% full to completely drained in a day. I assume it's the battery. I was going to purchase a new shaver, but the price of the shaver increased by 50% at all sellers in the same day. So, now I'll give a shot at replacing the battery.

@@lola1995 Same as on this video. In fact most of the Arc 4,5 Panasonic shavers batteries can be replace following the same procedure. And Batteries are available on I my zone...

The Battery I got to replace the one I had there was an impression in the new battery which indicated the positive end! I verified for sure with my digital voltmeter!!

Changed the battery for a genuine Panasonic battery. However the charging lights are not illuminating when I plug it in? Also left it charging for over 10 min as stated in the video. Thanks

Hi friend I have panasonic esLF51 is it same as es8103 is it same battery cause its 800 mah I dont know whether its same or not or can I use normal rechargable battery panasonic or it should have this wire from positive and negative :) Cause I only find on ebay that type with wires for es 8103 but I can find rechargeable without wires on any shop but want to know amp is how much

After I replaced the battery in the razor, it will showing its charging while its plugged in. But when I remove it from the power source it won't turn on and starts back at 0 when I plug it back in. Is the chip bad or is there something wrong with the battery?

What if I go with a battery with higher mah... 1000mah? Would it still work? Would it be better or worse if I used a 1000mah battery?

I think the electronics in charger are optimized for the original battery size.

Hello, Changed my battery -thanks for the video, !- on my es-LV9Q but now the battery indicator gives incorrect info.Tells me battery is empty while I can shave two or even three times more ! Tried to empty it then charge it full but no change;.. Any suggestions ?? Thanks and regards from France.

I think it will take 10 or more charges and discharges before it indicates properly.

1) throw away that cheap Chinese battery. 2) Buy a Samsung or Lg . 3) Make sure you have it connected to the proper polarity: + should face the bottom. 4) Make sure to put in the proper size : the correct size (14500), voltage (3.7 V Lithium-ion), and appropriate mah (750-850). It will be cheaper to replace a $10 battery than to buy a trusty replacement.

Never close the casing of any electronic device before trying out if it's working. Simple but often neglected rule.

Litium ion 14500 from 600 to 700 mah. Get the tabs their cheap and they work great

Sorry, You really screwed this up, you have the wrong battery!! The old one has posts on each end not tangs!! And any one watching that doesn't catch this shouldn't work on anything either!!

There is more than one way to skin a cat though I don't know why anyone would skin a cat. Just because the original battery had post doesn't mean you can use one with tabs. I have used this shaver every day for 2 years since the battery replacement and it works as good as new, even better. Don't limit yourself to one little box, often other solutions can be found outside the box.

You are partially correct. The original Panasonic battery with the "nipples" is no longer available. So, Vincent did a bit of "corrective and innovative surgery" to save the shaver's function. I own two of the older Panasonic models. Yes, I performed the same procedures. The problem is finding the correct size (14500), voltage (3.7 V Lithium-ion), and appropriate mah (unless you have an accurate battery tester, you really shouldn't believe the cheap Chinese batteries.) Stay with the Japanese/Korean brands. They cost more. But how many times do you want to perform this procedure ? You'll thank both of us tomorrow. :)
