The band was led on parade by their Drum Major David Lindberg and our under their direction of their Chief Per Iko.
The parade forms up on the square at the Armeemuseum at 11:30 and then after a small concert and inspection the parade departs to the Royal Palace through the streets of Stockholm at around 11:45. These times are delayed by an hour on Sundays and are different for when the daily parade is mounted and includes horses.
Personal note: I would like to apologise for the wind noise during moments of this video. Even though the temperature was a warm 24 degrees celsius the areas around the water were particularly blustery!
I would like to recommend a tip for anyone who has followed the band through the city and wishes to watch the ceremony in the courtyard. Once the band has passed and entered, walk through the palace gift shop entrance (small door at the back of the courtyard) that is to the right of where the parade passes and you can step through another door into the courtyard without battling the crowds that have built up at the main opening way which the sentries march through and has to be kept open (can be seen at 20:08).
This is the final video in my Swedish series where I have filmed the Home Guard Band from Gavleborg, The Mounted Band of the Royal Swedish Cavalry in their new temporary riding helmets and the Royal Swedish Army Band, I hope you have enjoyed these videos!
