Changing the headlight bulb on a 2016 V Star 1300 Tourer

I noticed I had the low beams out when riding last month. I stopped by to help the fireman get some wiring squared away on his trailer since that could easily cause a problem in traffic, and since we got that done pretty quick, i decided to tackle this before the high beam went out.

Just replaced the headlamp on my 2017 SE Deluxe. Had to remove half the batwing to do it but the rest of the instructions were as you explained. Thanks! Great video

Hello Mr. V-Star, I just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I had to replace the headlight on my 2007,1300 V-Star last year and I didn’t do that screw driver removal and my headlights were all over the place. I redid it the way you explained yesterday and now they are working correctly. I looked all over to see what I had bone wrong because it should of been quite simple to do but apparently without taking the screw off it won’t work correctly. Your video was the only one I could. Thanks again, it was very helpful 🤔

Does the hole light go out or you still have high or low beam to get you home? And thank for the video good refresher.

The Sylvania 9003 is a dual filament bulb so you can lose only one, and still have a back up. I ran it a couple of days on just the high beams, but if I lost that one, it would have been interesting.
