Күн бұрынCHANNEL 5 is often forgotten when it comes to the main terrestrial TV channels of the UK. However, when it comes to the Christmas schedules, have they been exceptionally LAZY in their selection? Or, on the other hand, are their choices absolutely genius for 2022?
Join me, as we examine Channel 5's Christmas lineup to try and divulge some kind of answer to that question!

Talking of films at Christmas in the 90s Christmas was always the time I’d record loads of films onto blank VHS from the Tv. I’d go through the radio times and circle all the ones I wanted to record.

Milkshake goes on from 5:30am-10am & for some reason SpongeBob SquarePants is not part of Milkshake for some weird reason.

I expect that the 15:10 original drama is to pull people back from switching over to the King's Speech on the other channels. Barely anyone in my house is watching the TV on Christmas Day, but we like to have a bit of Christmas music on. Seems like a pretty clever plan.

Adam. How much lazier can you get than the ITV Christmas Day schedule? Who in their right mind wants to watching cookery programmes on Christmas Day. I’d rather have a simulcast of children’s ITV than the s*** that they have the nerve to be broadcasting this year. And this is the same ITV who is thinking of dropping their public service licence? Think they should give up completely and call it a day

Tbh Channel 4 have it best with its Christmas films and the snowman and other things Channel 5 is ok bbc is same bbc2 I like Wallace and gromit is on so yea and then itv1 is awful itv2 has movies on tho but I'm on channel 4 Christmas day because Home Alone 2 is on that day

I love the Channel 5 Christmas schedule, it’s genius because everyone wants to listen to Christmas music on Christmas! (I do). I’d rather watch music videos than a film on Christmas Day.

Anything interesting on Channel 5 is usually a repeat, sometimes sneakily edited enough to be able to claim it is new and typically advertised with a different name. I did catch the end of 'Britain's Favourite Christmas Songs' a few days ago and _all I_ can say is I disagree with number 1!

Especially all their 'britain's favourite' episodes. And besides, there was announced a special new wave and electronic show since 3 years, but it was just another britain's pop-songs repeat!

Channel 5 seems to be offering something different on Christmas Day, I don't think a movie actually rate at all. People are too busy to watch them. Or these who have time to watch a movie will probably pick from streaming services if they have them.

At least they've gone for different & avoided lazy filler movies. Bit strange when they are showing films none of them are Xmas ones, that's despite them showing them most days since the beginning of November 😂 They also seem to transmit their 'own made' Xmas specials much earlier in the week before the big day(s) when more people watch. I think you're right they've got the modern audience sussed.

@@AdamMartyn BTW Adam, about the music programming on Christmas Day, bear in mind that Channel 5 is now owned by Paramount Global, the same owner of MTV, so I am not surprised about that

Bluey is already on CBeebies plus Milkshake mainly shows programmes from Nick Jr (I.E. Paw Patrol) so I doubt they will anyways...

Hopefully they split milkshake off as a seperate channel, similar to what the beeb and ITV have done with CBBC and CITV respectivley.

Pretty decent schedule I'd say, I quite like those archive countdown shows that Channel 5 broadcasts, They always bring back memories, I do think P,T,A will be edited for language when he says the F word at the Car Rental Rep :L

TBH this looks alright compared to bbc and itv. I`m not bothered personally about tv on Christmas day as i have 364 other days of the year to watch tv.

I watch channel 5 a few times a week, mainly because the shows on there are interesting but cringey at the same time, there are some good shows but it's mostly tabloid TV, I shouldn't like it but I do.

They're cable/sattelite, and I don't really think he's grown up with either or. I'm american, and the only one I recognise is cartoon network thanks to teen titans go (yes, that abomination) and amazing world of gumball. Outside of that, I never really cared much about CN's programming.

Channel 5 like to keep promoting comedy central when they show friends...which gets annoying and uou ca literally watch friend on comedy central 24 hr a day on comedy central when it's off that goes on to comedy central extra...justcseems lazy scheduling like gold with weekends full of only fools which yhey keep showing ones they just shown later during the day and day after Becoming a yawn fest...the people working at gold and comedy central must get bored stupid..." oh no not fools / friends again please boss let's have a bit of variety " " Nope laddo more fools and friends " Why would people need to buy the dvd box set of these it's basically on tv forever
