I would like to have A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants. I didn't know Methodists had books like that. I would consider myself an Anglican, so it would be outside my wheelhouse, although I do have many family members who are Methodists so it would help me understand my family better.

Good evening from the Netherlands, Dale. I have no want of books, since I bought the Anglican Office Book at your recommendation! I have loved it ever since I received it. I’ve been daily reading (and trying to sing the 1773 Psalms Statenvertaling (Dutch translation) quite horribly…) the psalms and 1549 table of lessons. My humble request is this. A little explainer about Methodism. It isn’t a thing here in the Netherlands. Yet on the English Wikipedia page I read it has 80 million adherents! According to my rudimentary calculations there are 4.44 times more Methodists than there are Dutch people on earth right now. God Bless!

Since I first came across your channel a few years ago it's been interesting seeing you're peregrinations, with Christianity. Certainly seeing the interaction between someone such as yourself as a man of faith with the church and the world has been really interesting and helped both my education in areas of Christianity I might not otherwise have come across and understanding what it actually means to live by faith. I also see that the channel has become a sort of obligation or burden for you as much as a means of communication, but it is very much appreciated.

I appreciate your videos. I would be open to receiving any of these prayerbooks: I grew up in a family with many different denominations all at once, so I was given a glimpse at a young age to many different traditions. I would actually read and pray from any prayerbook, if I received one. On a side note, the fireworks started last night here , and, honestly, I expect to hear them every night through Sunday.

@@arash402003 The Daily Office has brought me to what I would call a “deeper conversion”. I have never prayed or read scripture at the rate or volume in all my hears of being a Christian than when I began doing the Daily Office 5 years ago with my husband. St Jerome said “ Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ”. That statement challenged me and the prayer book has been an excellent tool in my “deeper conversion” Blessings.

Brother Dale, if you wish to do so, I would be interested in learning about Pavel Florensky. That is both who he was and what he means to you. I've heard the name mentioned, but I don't know much of anything about the man... Except that he was a man like Blaise Pascal, in that he had his feet in what are called two worlds, science and religion.

My comment is an invitation to digress. I admit that I enjoy when people do so, as long as the original topic is carried forward. It is why I enjoy Oliver Sacks footnotes in his essays, or an edition of the Bible which has good notes. Because you asked, please put my name in the hat etc. Being a Catholic who desires to go deeper in understanding into the past, there's a benefit to looking at what our brothers have to say. It is this that I object so fervently to, the desire to forget the past or to understand it in a partial way. Understandings which are partial are, as our friend Pascal points out, the seeds which grows into heresies. Congratulations on the growth of your chanel.

Congrats, you got more eyes on you now, feel any pressure? I doubt I am in need of another book, but if the Lord so moves you to send one then so let it be. One thing I would request: in light of all the pomp and bluster we tend to see of "the church", what does it really mean in 1 Timothy when Paul refers to the church as "the pillar and ground of the truth"? I know it tends to get used as, "oh see we (insert particular apostolic succession family tree here) are the pillar and ground of the truth, submit to us. But to look at all the golden mitres and obelisks and cotton lined icons and say THAT was what Paul was talking about, I just feel there is this disconnect.

@howardslayton1151 Funny. My first 'study Bible' was the Schofield, which I bought with money earned mowing lawns. I was impressed--I was maybe 12 or 13--that it was published by Oxford University Press. I think all that dispensational theory is hooey, and at the time I think I just thought it interesting, but it got me extra points when I took it to my Baptist Sunday School. I wonder what became of it.
