Interested in being on a future episode of Vinyl Dens? Please send your submission to channel33rpm@gmail.com. Make sure to include 8 to 10 clear, well-lit and in-focus photos of your space and gear, including long shots and close ups (horizontal photos are better than vertical).
Also include a bit about yourself (name, age, where you live, how long you have been collecting), a bit about your gear, and information about your room (where in your home it is located, how you put it together, special considerations, cool features, etc).
I will do my best to get as many rooms as possible on future episodes; however, please note I do get more submissions than I have time to show. All types of music rooms welcome. Thanks!

Back in the day one person bought the album and recorded it on TDK cassettes for the rest of us. Love the music rooms!

Absolutely... it was the only way to hear bunch of albums, when you didn't have a lot of money. And they sounded pretty decent on the Type 2 tapes.

It was a way to preserve records too, if it's something you're going to play over and over, use the cassette.

Cassettes will never die. I have over 200 blank cassettes of Maxwell all new. 90 minutes each. These cassettes are for recording from KZfaq. Then record from cassettes to cds (Maxwell 80 minutes and they are blanks). I can record anything I want because KZfaq is all music invented. See Yaa (from 976-CREOLEMAN).

Regarding those original reels: reach out to Iain Betson of Press Play- Dedicated All Things Reel to Reel. This guy is the guru in England and has a great podcast. He worked for the BBC and was the engineer in charge of all the tape decks. He currently helps guide people into restoring decks and knows a lot about care and preservation of old reel tapes.

It's whatever you enjoy, everyone is different! I personally like record's for the reasons 80%sound quality- 20% culture! But that's me! I don't like labels either! I don't consider myself as an "audiophile " as much as just a guy that likes great sound!😊

I'm more about the destination (being content) than the journey (not being content), even though I've never actually reached my destination over the 30 years of collecting records and CDs. lol About the last 5 years all I really wanted to have is record storage that is flip bins that are on drawer slides hidden behind doors. I know exactly what I want, but haven't gotten around to doing it just yet, but I'm getting close.

I laughed when I saw the Stiff phrase partially showing. It contains a very naughty word and was "If it ain't Stiif, It Ain't Worth a (very naughty word) ". I love Elvis Costello and I saw Reckless Eric a few years before Lockdown. Both Elvis and Wreckless are featured in the Stiffs Tour Film from around the late 70s. I saw it on Amazon and Wreckless looked very young on it even though he was in his twenties. I have just looked on the Internet and it looks like Universal currently own Stiff Records. Maybe the current owner of those Cans should speak to them.

Frank, I own a mint SL1200 Mk II and a 1200GR. The differences between them are less than you think, they have the same tonal balance and the same matter of fact music delivery. I think the internal tonearm wiring is a little better on the GR but if you were of a mind to go that route you could change it on the Mk II, I'd say just leave it though. My opinion is gonna be controversial as I think the damping is better on the Mk II chassis and the feel of all the switches are better than the later turntables. I use an old Empire 2000 on the Mk II and a Benz Micro on the GR and the latter does sound better but when you consider the overall cost of each package I'm still blown away by how good the MK II sounds and just how close they are. Just my two cents.

Bro at 7:14 that's such a shame to have that kind of collection and be playing them out of bookshelf speakers... Get some loudpeakers my guy! Even just some vintage ones would be good. The first time I hooked up my dad's old JBL L100T's I swear it was like I was hearing music for the first time. Truly an emotional experience!

I could show you a record collection that blow your mind, unfortunately most of it is in boxes, my friend is a hoarder his record collection consists of approximately 350,000 records, reel to reel tapes cassettes cds VHS laserdiscs, make up probably ten thousand or so additional formats. Vintage equipment including speakers turntables reel to reel decks receivers amps preamps various tuners number a couple of hundred, unfortunately being a hoarder a lot of the stuff mainly in the basement has gone moldy, very sad, the surprising thing is that he knows practically everything he has.

A warning for anyone living in California, never stack or storage your collection of vinyls and cds all the way to the ceiling. It would be stupit and dangerous to your health. I myself collect cds and vinyls. And believe me I know the best way for storaging your collection. Give me a holler and I will explain. Thanks for reading my comment (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
