Never focused much on Springsteen; considered him just another rocker. But, this interview changed how I see him. He's thoughtful, introspective and humble, with the self reflection to realize he's not sure of everything. Those are qualities I admire.

Warren Zevon said that one of the greatest things about Springsteen, is that , and I paraphrase, he is exactly who you think he is. I like that. Certainly seems so, in this interview.

Hi Bruce, I'm a Jersey "girl" living in Florida now. I have always loved your music, and miss Jersey terribly. I met my husband at NAD Earl in Colts Neck. He was a Marine who had just returned from Viet Nam when we met. We dated, got engaged and married a year and a half later. My life is influenced by the music of the music of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and I miss those days back in the late 60's and 70's terribly. I wish I never left Jersey, but can't afford to go back there. I'm so lonely and still don't feel like Florida is "home". My 3 sons are here, and are married and have children here in Florida .I still have more family in NJ and miss them terribly. I wish I could travel back and forth, but it's not financial possible for me since I live on Social Security only, which the GOP is planning on "sunsetting" within five years. I really wanted to tell you how much your music means to me. It makes me homesick though, because I feel NJ is still my home. I'm happy that you are not in favor in Trump being president, and I agree with you and Steven Van Zandt. I pray to God that Biden wins the 2024 electric because I truly believe that he will destroy our democracy and everything will be chaotic! I hope to hear all of your family, Steven Van Zandt and the E Street Band, and everyone you know, will speak up and maybe do a concert that will help Biden win. I think it will help people see, and understand that Biden is the best candidate for president. We really need you, and others in the music industry to speak out, because you are so influential and loved by millions of people. People such as yourself, have millions of people who believe in you. Born in The USA Tour, at the Pacific Colloseum, Vancouver BC in 1984. It was a spiritual awakening for me. I have seen Bruce 4 times. EVERY Concert was great, but that first one was the best concert I have ever witnessed, bar NONE!

He is a thinker, and having read his autobiography 'Born To Run' he is also a very good writer. It's a very interesting and honest account of his life to date.

First saw Springsteen on the River tour. It was the best concert I have ever witnessed. At the time, I thought it was the greatest LP of all time. It told of a reality I could relate to. I also learned the power of music to reach into the souls of men. It felt like a religious experience. But since then I have learned the difference between live entertainment and true spirituality. Be that as it may. I have since learned that one should never be fooled into thinking that expertise in one field or in the Boss’ case, talent, no matter how great, carries any weight when transferred into another field of thought. His ability to entertain and unite an audience within the blue collar, almost mythological american dream/nightmare, is truly remarkable. I find it interesting that the 2008 bailout angered him. Because while it was a Republican president who signed the bill, it was the Democratic controlled congress that passed the bill. “We are democrats because they are for the people”. That’s what I used to think. I find it interesting that the only thing that the interviewer could bring up about Trump was “the locker talk”. The idea that Trump only courted the forgotten blue collar man (from whom Springsteen struck pay dirt) for ill intentions, is sad indeed. The problem with promises is that you must give the promiser a chance or the benefit of the doubt to see if he can deliver what was promised. You can be sure that if you go to a Bruce Springsteen concert, he will deliver the goods. Clearly, the midwest had lost its faith in the Democratic promises of the Kennedy era. “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!” The new promise of the Democrats became, FORGET YOU! ask not what your country can do for you, but what your country can do for the Global village. Why not take a chance with Trump? “He’s not going to be president”. “Hillary will make a good president”. Well, we will see after the 2020 election cycle is in the history books if those forgotten blue collar folks in any town USA agree with the Boss. Because they did not agree with him in the 2016 cycle. The Boss is one of the best in his field of expertise, and he is entitled to his opinion. He was Born in the USA! Praise be to God!

“E Street” is more than band name or slogan. For me it can be a concept or understanding only someone who can relate to this man and his songs would care about. “E Street” is about home and family and country and experience and DNA. “E Street” is universal. It is everything that truly matters.

This was one of the best interviews with Bruce that I have ever seen. Great questions. So many interviewers have no idea who Bruce is and what to ask him beyond surface level stuff. This interviewer knew his stuff and asked fantastic questions.

I can only say, I worked in Freehold NJ for many years, I knew some of Bruce's old school chums, I knew his first drummer, who's leg got messed up in Vietnam, and for the most part he is THE Home Town Hero....and he earned it !!!!

For the working class voter, Donald Trump has an element of wish fulfillment for them. He's no smarter or intellectually sophisticated than the average American, and he's rich. But for the lack of a billionaire father there goes me. Trump plays that up. I disagree about musicians having influence. Steve Van Zant made a huge difference in raising awareness about apartheid in South Africa.

Zevon is one of the greatest lyricist of his time, and goes widely unnoticed. Springsteen realized his genius. Listen to Disorder in the House. Bruce absolutely shredding lead guitar on one of the last songs recorded by an ailing Zevon.

My family dates to 1600's in what is now New Jersey. Pole Tavern area. Family name is Stimpson. Your music has always inspired me. I recently retired from the New Mexico State Police and and am going back to mechanics as a boat mechanic rebuilding my own boats and then selling them. We have a few big lakes here. Mom was Democrat and Dad was Republican. I think I am Buddhist. Just hope the music continues. I earned a Carnegie Medal for my police work. I was told that was rare. My kids don't care about medals, they just care about me and my concern for them. Your music inspires those in difficult times. You have earned your money for that reason. When a police officer faces multiple deaths in a crash, as I did many times, your music helped me.
