The UN isn’t meant to be an administrative body. I’m so tired of people expecting the UN to function like some sort of international government. Never before in the history of mankind have so many different countries from across the world collected together in one room to voice their opinions about international topics. The UN is meant to be a forum for dialogue between countries and in this case, it works perfectly. Plus it’s important to not disregard the secondary bodies of the UN that have done a phenomenal job: IMF, ILO, DPA and the WHO (although they’ve been lacking a bit recently)

They know they have literally 0 influence on the voting process, so they vote to make people talk about them, bringing interest and hopefully more people will know the name of theses countries.
