On Monday, 22 January 2024, 356 Trainee Officers commenced at the Australian Defence Force Academy with five weeks of Year One Familiarisation Training (YOFT). During YOFT, Trainee Officers participate in a range of basic military training activities, including military drills, physical training, weapon handling and navigation exercises and they also receive lessons on military history, leadership and ethics.
