Over one and a half years, 75 lower-income households received an average of S$500 every month in cash aid with no strings attached. Social service agency AWWA undertook a study that revealed how that has helped them pursue longer-term goals. CNA's Syahida Othman speaks to Director of Family Services at AWWA, Huixia Seetoh, and Senior Research Fellow at NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Head of the Case Insights Unit & Social Inclusion Project, Dr Ng Kok Hoe, and finds out that gaps remain, especially when it comes to getting quality jobs that can improve their lives.

Such a study is meant to find ways to help the low income group. PAP is obviously the only responsible and caring party in s'pore.❤❤

But there are still many rough sleepers in Singapore 667 as of last years if I am not mistaken. Correct me if I’m wrong. Many are senior citizens 60, 70 even 80 years old. They are also Singaporean.

I hope the gov't can offer assistance to children with sporting goals. Sports is quite divisive as coaching fees and equipment costs are exorbitant.

I believe the root cause of the high cost of living is the policy of Singapore Corporatization. This policy requires even government agencies, like public healthcare, to generate revenue.

Behind this drive of high prices and cost of living is the Government policy of Singapore Corporatization; every government agency ought to generate some revenue, which drives up cost of living.

Apart from high rental cost in Singapore, another probable factor is excessive profiteering by Singapore enterprises.

The problem lies, instead, with Singapore's attitude towards offense. Nowhere else in the entire western world would you find the national reaction to being offended on a par with what we have recently witnessed
