The fictional character Spider-Man, a comic book superhero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and featured in Marvel Comics publications, has currently appeared in ten live-action films since his inception, not including fan made shorts and guest appearances in other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Spider-Man is the alter-ego of Peter Parker, a talented young freelance photographer and aspiring scientist imbued with superhuman abilities after being bitten by a radioactive/genetically-altered spider.
The first live-action film based on Spider-Man was the unauthorized short Spider-Man by Donald F. Glut in 1969. This was followed by Spider-Man, an American made-for-television film that premiered on the CBS network in 1977. It starred Nicholas Hammond and was intended as a backdoor pilot for what became a weekly episodic TV series.
The rights to further films featuring the character were purchased in 1985, and moved through various production companies and studios before being secured by Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia Pictures) for $10 million (plus 5% of any movies' gross revenue and half the revenue from consumer products),[1] who hired Sam Raimi to direct Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), and Spider-Man 3 (2007) starring Tobey Maguire. The first two films were met with positive reviews from critics, while the third film received a more mixed response. In 2010, Sony announced that the franchise would be rebooted. Marc Webb was hired to direct, with Andrew Garfield starring, and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) was released to positive reviews. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) saw mixed reviews.
In February 2015, Disney, Marvel Studios and Sony announced a deal to share the Spider-Man film rights, leading to a new iteration of Spider-Man being introduced and integrated into the MCU. The deal allows Sony to distribute and have final creative control over MCU films where Spider-Man is the main character, while Disney distributes the ones where he is not. Tom Holland portrays this younger version of Spider-Man, appearing in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), as well as a sequel to Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). All of Spider-Man's MCU appearances have received positive reviews thus far.
Plans for an animated Spider-Man film were officially announced by Sony in April 2015. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) combines Sony Pictures Imageworks' computer animation pipeline with traditional hand-drawn comic book techniques, inspired by the work of Miles Morales's co-creator Sara Pichelli. Completing the animation required up to 140 animators, the largest crew ever used by Sony Pictures Animation for a film. Into the Spider-Verse received universal acclaim, winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and becoming the highest-rated film in the Spider-Man franchise, surpassing Spider-Man 2.
Raimi's trilogy grossed $2.5 billion worldwide on a $597 million budget, while Webb's films grossed nearly $1.5 billion on a $480 million budget. Spider-Man's MCU films (Homecoming and Far From Home) have grossed over $1.8 billion on a $335 million budget and Into the Spider-Verse grossed $375 million on a $90 million budget. The Spider-Man films have grossed over $6.1 billion collectively at the global box office.

I love this concept! Just want to let you know though, Morbius IS related to science. That's the difference between him and other vampires. Through trying to cure his own rare blood disease from a formula derived crime vampire bats (uh sure why not), the good doctor transforms himself into a LIVING vampire. This means he has vampire-seque powers without being undead nor having vampire weaknesses. This is not to say he's not similar to fantastical vampires, he still has to feed on blood to live and he has been know to be able to transform others into vampires too, but even he is an outcast among the Marvel Universe's vampires not just humanity. He's a tragic villain who went to far with science. However, in the 90's Spider-Man Animated series Blade also tries to hunt down Morbius alongside actual vampires so this concept pitch would still work super well! (Also yes, Ultimate Morbius is a real fantastical vampire, while the mainline continuity is not. It's confusing.)

@@chemostar2361 a lot of spider Man villains are animal themed (rhino, vulture, doc octopus, scorpion, etc.) So Mobius fits the trend of animal themed villains as he's a man with bat like powers that so happen to be similar to a vampires.

Anthony Hernandez Theres too many horror elements for that to work for spider-man. He makes a much better Blade villain.

This is what they should do to make it not too confusing with the universes, keep Mcu Spider-Man in Mcu, and with Sony’s universe you make it an adult Spider-Man (different from PS4 Spider-Man so it is not copying) for the people who want him to be an adult. You would skip the origin with this one too.

Just something you seemed to have forgotten, Peter will 100% be graduating in the third film, so his classmates would just be friends at this point. Homecoming was sophomore and Far From Home was Junior year.

I hope Sony does get its act together cause I also think that is a great idea. I also wish the two studios would play nice and do things like this, as long as it’s fair to both studios. And I do hope MCU really is making other types of genres most have just felt like “super hero movie” lately, so if they do explore other genres and give directors the chance to explore their vision my excitement for later phases will definitely increase

If this was a strictly sony film they could use manwolf if he already has a movie or as an introduction to the character and it would make this even crazier, like maybe they could have him be a good guy and help out peter and his friends by turning them into werewolves and they go kill vampires and it would be batshit insane

if MCU Spider-Man where to team up with blade to fight vampires, I think it would make sense for Spider-Man to make his Spider-Armor MK 1, to not get bitten. Also I wouldn't mind having Sony films be part of the mcu if they are good. But also I think making Sony marvel films be a sort of alternate universe film series (or what- if) is a good way to go about explaining them.

I think this is impossible,but, what if Sony’s Spider-Man films could not reference the MCU yet be in it, these events could take place in places outside NYC, they could not reference any of the other movies since it doesn’t take place in NYC

If There was a Blade movie where he needs Spider-Man to help face off against Morbius, these are a few more characters I’d add to the mix: -Daredevil -Punisher -Moon Knight -Ghost Rider -Dr. Strange -Scarlet Witch -Jessica Jones -Night Thrasher

Love the idea but what if on the DC side of things we get A the batman vs man bat movie too then universal remakes Dracula and we marvel DC and Dracula movies around the same time and we get the year of the vampire and bring it back to in pop culture as A creepy monster

Concept phase 4 mcu marvel spiderman 3 it may be a good idea for the amazing spiderman vs blade that will be very interesting and exciting to c in the early days and some have changed the character um be terrific and that will be very exciting to see in mcu. I am glad Tom Holland back in mcu making nothing spiderman movies with Sony and marvel universe that will be very good to see in the movie.um the whole thing is tom Holland is spiderman. Even they take vacation and even vampire storyline and in mcu now I think spiderman team up with blade sidekick that will really be awesome ever and in universe.um I think it will be extremely exllecent for spiderman films and that will be so amazing ever. I realized that the and vemon crossover universe is be very unique to c in the mcu movie.

Bro, you're killing me with this Venom hate. The quality was definitely not "far below" anything in the MCU. Venom is way better than films like Thor: The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk. I'm not sure what you saw differently. You kept destroying Venom and I'm not sure why. It was a solid movie.
