Sporting News’ Karisa Maxwell sat down with Channing Crowder, Ryan Clark and Fred Taylor of “The Pivot” podcast at Radio Row from Super Bowl 56. They discuss a multitude of topics including Brian Flores, the need for racial equity in the NFL, their favorite memory of John Madden and their controversial split from the “I Am Athlete” podcast and why “Bad Business” Brandon Marshall is at fault for the breakup.

It’s just a lesson when you start a business with a friend even if it seems stupid and small, get your shit straight that way they’re no curveballs. I don’t really know the whole story but I’m glad these guys could branch out because I wasn’t a huge fan of Brandon. I don’t have anything against him I just wasn’t that interested in his style but that’s just me.

he was the front man and the main cast and sometimes the main cast like in every group that has ever existed lose sight of the value of the rest of the players. there are rarely any group that last because it normally starts off as a hustle with little business structure and then when it blows up, there werent any business infrastructure in place and the person who started it, wants to take most if not all the credit... brandon is terrible at interviewing because he is always cutting people off and talks over people... channing and fred kept the balance .. they will all do well

They left out that Brandon already had the established brand and all put his money in it from jump and assumed all the risk. It’s wild that they thought they were equal owners when they didn’t invest any money initially, but their participation. Channing definitely overvalued himself. They obviously didn’t know about business. You can’t come back after it’s blowing up from an initial investment from Brandon and claim equal ownership.

The Pivot is staying true to who they are as people, first, and giving their audience/fans what and who they want to see. I'm tuning in for the personalities of Fred and Channing, now with the addition of Ryan, who is doing a great job. The Pivot will continue to grow, as long as they don't forget the core of what brings them together and the value they bring individually. I'm not a former athlete, but I appreciate the insight I get by watching. At the end of the day, they show us, that at some point in your life, you will have to pivot, and the lesson is learning to do that as effortlessly as possible, while at the same time knowing there will be adversities along the way. Thank you for your transparency. Congratulations The Pivot!!!! Edit: Wow, everything they said!

Salute to Fred and Chann for keeping it real and finally coming out saying what the problem really was , not just the money ..Brandon was territorial when it came to “I Am Athlete” in which if you were a fan of the show , you could see there was times when’s Brandon didn’t value them and would have his outburst as the guys would try to speak their minds on certain things he would be like “ Hold up to whoever it was at the time saying we get to that later , and we gone let you talk … We gone let you talk but what I … wanna know is …” smh IMO doing so from the outside you could see everything was not even and Brandon wanted people to know He was in charge when it came to IAA and also when it came to expressing or picking the topics on the pod which is why I feel Fred and Ocho didn’t speak with their knowledge as much as they would have ultimately dodging all the B.S. they were feeling .. Chann is gone be himself regardless 🤷🏿‍♂️ But again sALute to both sides 💯✊🏿

I watch The Pivot every week and really like the content and the guests you fellas bring. I got love for IAA as well, but there’s an obvious drop there from a conversational standpoint-but I’ll keep it positive. One question, will there be apparel for The Pivot for purchase soon? I want the tees you guys are wearing as well as sweatshirts! RC Steelers Nation for life bro!

Suggestion, ask Channing’s wife to locate a building, you men purchase it and turn your conversation room into a sample locker room, kitchen, conference rooms,Day Care will help pay the bills, game room, lecture rooms, tutoring, write grants centered around disadvantage children. If you purchase an old school, the auditorium can be used as a community meeting room and have comedians in on a night and charge a fee for adults.
