I think the guide to the dead pallette is supposed to have alebrijes on it -- they're Mexican folk sculptures! In the movie Coco they're spirit guides to the land of the dead.

The Guide to the Dead palette looks like it has Pepito from Coco on it, which is a movie about the land of the dead. May not play well in KY, but if you lived in a state like CA with a huge Hispanic population, this would be considered a pretty normal thing and wouldn't seem creepy. 😊

So the Guide to the Dead palette is deffo inspired by the Mexican holiday Dia de Los Muertos / Coco since the dog on the front is the same dog that belonged to the main character! Totally understand if that concept makes you uncomfortable but it's based on a holiday That's about celebrating the lives/impact of passed on loved ones.

The eye shadow palette with the colorful dog is a Disney themed palette for the movie Coco. The dogs name is Dante. It’s a wonderful film that highlights Land of the Dead. I’m sure your niece would love the palette!

In Mexican culture alebrijes guide you through your transition to the after life. Don’t know the brand but the designs and color choices definitely are giving a nod to the culture wouldn’t say it’s a Lisa Frank knock off. Colors aren’t for everyday but the palette designs looks great!

The first box was really cute! Personally if I’m having things randomized, it’s nice to get something I wouldn’t normally buy as an excuse to try new things. If I wanted the same neutrals I always gravitate to, I’d go pick them out myself and get exactly what I need. It’s fun to have an excuse to get new non every day and fun makeup!

The amount of time I spent tracking down that guide to the dead dog eyeshadow palette. Truly a difficult find. But I found it, and grabbed it, and my 12 yo daughter is going to be ecstatic over it.

When I was a full time, working hairstylist, I used the Chi silk infusion on every blow-dry. It's lightweight and "melts" into the hair nicely. I believe the concept is that it infuses the hair with silk, thus making it stronger.

I believe that's kinda what they were going for with day of the dead. They are called alebreijes (al-eh-bree-hey) and go along with the bright colors of dia De Los Muertos celebrations and the general culture of the area :) (I hope I'm remembering all that correctly)

Haha. The Bookcase stacked with products is making an appearance! My husband didn't believe me all women have one until last time you showed it. I actually just had to clean mine off because my cat decided to climb Mt. Box and toppled everything over, it was a box and product avalanche. I think you have fabulous eyebrows, I wish mine looked like that. If you did enter I know all of us would support you. I live just next to you in Tennessee (near Nashville) and we had 78 mph winds, it literally uprooted a 20+ foot pine tree in our front yard and knocked it over, like all roots out of the ground... Plus two other trees in our back yard were split in half... Our front door was blown open five times! My mom was without power in Clarksville for SEVEN hours... The wind was maniacally bad so I completely understand

That Tangle Teaser brush is the one I have (in a different colour) and it's the best I've ever used. My sister was a hair stylist so I've had access to some of the most expensive and 'professional' products yet the Tangle Teaser is definitely the best for me.

This was really fun! I was excited there was an advent calendar thrown in the mix, too. With the last calendar video, you had said there were a few random ones left you might unbox, but that video never came, so a random advent calendar thrown in was fun! And that kickstarter for the Lisa Frank makeup with a collab with Glamour Dolls. I participated in that one, too, and was extremely disappointed by the whole outcome of that. Will never purchase a Glamour Dolls product, and honestly am a bit surprised they still exist after that debacle!

I LOVE that Ultramo eyeshadow palette!! The dog on the front with wings I believe is from the movie Coco! Go watch it and you might smile more about the colors!! Too cool. I really enjoy the CHI products. I use the silk infusion all of the time. It makes my hair feel really silky. The secret is to not use too much. A little goes a long way. I also love their conditioner. It ranks up there with Olaplex in my experience. Anyway, thanks for sharing! xo
