I didn't want this one to end. Sometimes in watching Dion's videos I process mostly with my brain, there's always something I learn. Other times, I think less commonly, I just feel. And this one I caught myself smiling a few times. Chappell Roan is so fun, Dion makes us feel the fun. Fun is the sine qua non of Dion's fashion philosophy. No, Dion didn't grow up in rural far away from the bright city lights. She grew up in the megawattage of Miami Beach. But the lesson of this vid, to me, to her Lana Del Rey vids, is that you can find tackiness anywhere. As a style analyst Dion sometimes takes an ironic approach. She does that here. Chappell Roan does that. Chappell leans into while bashing her rural Midwest roots. Dion embraces the tackiness of small-town Florida while distancing herself. It is very healthy to have that ironic disposition. I DID grow up in a small, rural town and I don't have that healthy ironic dualism, mostly just hatred. A THOUSAND THUMBS UP!

The fact that I was listening to Chappell earlier and thinking about how beautifully she writes sapphic sexual content versus men writing it is crazy thank you for bringing that up!!
