This dude gave an unexpectedly thoughtful and uplifting interview, which was really nice. A lot of these segments are "Out of touch news anchor tosses thoughtless cliche softballs to up and coming pop star he's never heard of" but this all seemed very engaging and genuine. A rare instance where I enjoyed both sides of this conversation.

I was honestly kind of surprised, since I wouldn't expect a white (presumably straight/cis) male news anchor to take more than a passing interest in Chappell's music. I am so delighted to have been proven wrong. The world is changing

I have to say I saw this was an ABC news interview and I was worried he might ask something kinda rude but this was such a respectful and sweet interview. I'm really glad she's getting more famous. My girl's gonna take over. Get out there and sing for the queers baby!
