I grew up in this area. Willagee used to be a public housing area. Lots of skateboarding in the 70s. It's a good spot to live as it's close to fremantle.

Welcome to Noongah Boodjar which in Noongah language means Noongah Country which covers south of Geraldton far south as Albany including Perth... Perth and the south west region of Western Australia was the first area settled by the British in the 1800s... so yeah Noongah Country was the first Aboriginal lands settled by the first settlers of WA... much love from the Noongah people of this beautiful country♥️🖤💛 ALWAYS WAS ALWAYS WILL BE ABORIGINAL LAND ❤️🖤💛

I came to perth in 2001. There was no coffe at all. Just brown water made from powder. WA was a forgotten gem. Not that I realized that then, but I when back. Looking from Germany it was the place on earth to go back to. In 2004, perhaps 2 years after the booooooom started I had an unbelievable time in Western Australia. Any one from 17 to 70 years old had a very good paying job. Even useless people were busy. An almost endless career with out thick paperwork or a university degree. Australia kept giving like there is no end. The opportunities where frightening, but the living cost as well. For 7 years I didnt leave the continent and got my PR on the way. There was always some one calling to work here and there. Never ending. By the year 2010 the coffe shops exploded on the streets and HR started to commoditize all the good jobs. They are now almost everywhere. By 2014 the boom economy slowed and never recovered to anything meaningful. The cost of living for some reason didnt scale back as much as the work load. 9 years after that, and the country became excessively obsessed with regulation, red tape and paper work. HR is now the only way to get into a hamsterwheel and you pay to get work and to go to work. A proper fee burden. From 2004, nothing to the point that from 2016 onwards you have to pay for tickets to get into an industry or even stay in it. The locals have only slowly adjusted to ever growing demands and ever increasing competition. IMO almost like Europe now. The good jobs are not here anymore. What's is left is the sunny weather. What was once a captivating place which no one had on its travel plan is long over by 2023.

@@gioya.willems Compared to Germany, Western Australia was the best workaholic worklife ballance ever. This spot was consuming me and 19 years of my life :)

You really know the place..... Is WA that boring as some people say?
@Hangover-ry9bo
@Hangover-ry9bo 7 ай бұрын
@@rogersampaio7450 It is. It was boring when being raised and growing up in Europe. I found a Sponsore and a horrendous amoumt of work at the onset of the mining boom. Then me and all others had plenty to do and it was buzzing for 12 years. Going out was never anything exiting or worth doing a second time, if you get my drift. in 2015 it slowed down and many people were leaving the state, and houses and Appartements empty. That is super boring. The number was in 100.000's, but never was publicly announced as a problem. Tourism was being spruiked, and who over does this has no idea who little this does in a high wage country. Perth or WA is boom and bust location like a roller coaster. Only good when busy IMO. It have become extremely regulated for absolutely nothing. Initialy in 2000 I came on a holiday working visa and only stayed 6 month, but had a job to go back to anyway. I had the choice between Cost Rica,Italy and Australia. Germany at the time was becomming a go no were place and only came back in 2014, and now back to no go or better leave if you 20 years old. Perth is worth a visit but, if you have to pay for tickets this and licence that buy a bus and drive up the coast and move on. The rents are extrem high in 2022 to may be 2025. Its no longer affordable with a normal job.

No real coffee in Perth in 2001? That's funny because I was drinking really good coffee in cafes in Perth in the Eighties.

Perth is an isolated smallish city and doesn’t really represent Australia. Most Aussies live on the East coast.
