Okay, lemme guess who’s secret is who’s Arei: The sisters one Whit: Whit’s mentioned his mother once or twice. His mother being dead would be simply tragic. Nico: They had the identity one. Charles: The older brother death one. Arturo: I guessed he had anorexia, so I think I was right and his was the refusal to eat one. Levi: I joked about Levi being a mass murderer. If it’s correct, I’d laugh my dang head off. Xander: Our boy’s family is dead, I’d guess. His minisode was called ‘Visiting Graves’, after all. Min: I’d give her the sexuality one. Whit being in a heterosexual relationship doesn’t seem like much of a damning secret, so I’m guessing this one is Min’s. Rose: Family debt. J: Mariabella. Eden: After process of elimination, EDEN MAY REALLY BE THE MASTERMIND. Hu: I’ll guess hers is the younger sister one? Veronika: Hers is almost definitely that self harm one. OH YES, NICE!! Finally, I think this is the first Fangan I've seen that actually reveals ALL of the contents of the "Secrets" motive, instead of just the protagonists alone or just 1 or 2 others. As another way of getting to know them outside of free time events, I really appreciate that XD _I'm real interested in how Arie was holding on to something so spooky, yet so juicy at the same time 👀👀👀_ no wonder she was in Hyper Distrust mode after the first initial handouts 👀

Okay I have extra time now so here’s a comment revolving specifically around Ace and Nico. Spoilers ahead!! Basically I think that whole ordeal was a trap. The wire was attached to the weight case, which was dragged over to the side of the room. In Ace’s crime scene we can see that one end of the wire is taped to the end of the fan, with the roll right next to it. If the wire is suspended in midair and Ace were to walk into it, it was gash his neck. Then, if he stumbled back, the weights would tip, causing them to yank on the fan, which was found on the ground during the discovery. As for him being knocked out, there’s a weight all the way near the fan in the discovery, maybe it was placed on the fan and when it fell, it hit him over the head? If this is the case, the explanation of Nico’s appearance could’ve been that they walked in, saw the wire trap, tried to take it down to get to Ace, and that’s why we saw them holding the bloody wire. They were almost dressed to work out, so they could’ve just gone in there on their own time. If Nico is shorter than Ace, it also explains why there’s a step stool in there, as they could’ve gotten it to take the wire down so they could enter the crime scene. As for why Ace assumed it was Nico, that’s as easy as having someone lure him to the gym with a note, effectively setting Nico up if they knew they planned to go there. I think Rose’s missing turpentine is more related to Arei’s case than it is Ace/Nico’s. This is all just speculation ofc, but I think it’s worth noting

Spoilers, speculating about secrets: I was gonna try to do a nice little chart, but I realized writing it out would be a little easier. We don't know the secrets of Teruko, Ace, Arturo, David, Eden, Hu, Levi, Min, Veronica, or Xander. We don't know the target of the secrets "You're a murderer", "Your mom is dead," "You exist to manipulate others", "Your body is falling apart", "Your younger sister killed herself", "You kissed her", "Your talent distracts from self-harm", "You attempted suicide three times", "You poisoned the competition", "You blame yourself for your family's death", and "The killing game is your fault." Because nobody got their own secret, we know that Whit's secret is not "You exist to manipulate others", Eden's is not "Your younger sister killed herself", Veronica's is not "You attempted suicide three times", and David's is not "the killing game is your fault". (We can probably assume Xander's is not "You poisoned the competition" and Min's is not "You blame yourself for your family's death", but I left those out because it's unclear whether they just got each other's secrets, or if some living people got the dead's secrets and some secrets of living people just weren't handed out) Teruko says she "can't tell which motive is hers". Most of these secrets refer to pretty specific events - you'd be able to tell if something was referring to a past suicide attempt or poisoning. The only two that don't are "You exist to manipulate others" and "The killing game is your fault." I definitely think it's the last one - it's very protagonist-y, it's blaming Teruko for others' deaths, which is a big part of her arc, and it likely connects to why Xander tried to kill her in the first place. (Admittedly, though, I'd expect David to behave a bit differently if he received Teruko's secret...) I think "distraction from self-harm" is Veronika's. She's mentioned how horrible getting bored is for her, and going from self-harm to just enjoying gory horror seems like a positive change someone might've suggested. (You know, like one of those "Do you just want to see blood? Maybe try squeezing ketchup on yourself" kind of things, getting the desire for self-harm out in other ways) I know I left them off my list of facts, but I do think Xander and Min have each others' secrets. They tie in pretty well with their bonus episodes - Xander's is about visiting graves, and his classmate says "Xander, if you're going to say you wish you died, don't." (But he does dismiss the idea of dying himself as "a pointless waste of life", not wishing he died with his family) And Min talks about how she's sure that she wasn't the top scorer, that she was only selected because she was so devoted to the goal. Poisoning other kids sure sounds like a show of dedication to me... And if Hope's Peak rewarded that behavior, what does that mean for their goals now? "You kissed her" specifically refers to sexuality, so it's reasonable to assume it's about a woman. (I could see it being about biphobia if it was a man who had thought he was exclusively gay, but Whit's pretty open about his sexuality, and I can't really see any of the other men being in an environment that was biphobic but not homophobic) Crossing off all the men and all my other guesses here, and I'm left with Eden and Hu. It seems strange for Hu to be so supportive of Nico coming out but not mention her own sexuality, and Eden's definitely the sort to be worried about friendship dynamics, so I'm guessing Eden. I think the "exist to manipulate others" is David. The secrets are written in a way to get under their target's skin, with little insults or mean framing, and I think that's why the phrasing was "You exist to manipulate", not "You choose to manipulate" - it's making a claim about their nature and their everyday actions. David's been shown to keep up a front, but I think that even if he's deceptive, he still has some good intentions and cares about others. So a secret that tells him "Even when you encourage people, you're still being manipulative" is going to hurt. (Plus, you can't really tell a jockey/zither player/fashion designer "You're just manipulating people" when they have a craft that doesn't really involve that. Whit's talent could fit the bill, but he received the secret, so it can't be him) In a similar vein, I think "attempted suicide three times" is Ace. It makes a direct insult, which none of the others do, and Ace is easily riled by those. Ace doesn't have really have many skills to speak of, he's mentioned how becoming a jockey was just a coincidence. And he's been shown getting into drastic situations and then panicking as things get serious, which is absolutely something that can happen with a suicide attempt. (And if the secret gets out, Ace will definitely be perceiving any sympathy as pity and just get even angrier) I think "You're a murderer" goes to Levi. He mentions in his introduction that he "was quite a different person in his past", and has been shown using violence to try to defend others multiple times. I can easily imagine a situation where he killed someone to defend someone else, and feels no regret because of the circumstances. (Doesn't make much sense for it to be Hu, she clearly feels guilt about her secret. Arturo could be interesting, some medical malpractice thing, but it doesn't really add a lot to his character if he's killed in his pursuit of beauty) "Your body is falling apart" definitely makes sense for Arturo, celebrity culture absolutely promotes poor body image and eating disorders. (I don't think we've actually seen him eat in any past scenes, have we? I'd have to check...) Between dead sister and dead mother, I'm picking Hu for sister, Whit for mom. Hu mentioned changing her name for the sake of English speakers, and then sticking with her name because it held meaning to her family - that could definitely fit with the "You shouldn't have left" message of the secret. Whit is partly process of elimination, partly that "You lied about your mom being alive" is only compelling if a character's mentioned their mom before - I can't look back over everything and check, but Tohru Adachi’s Nosehairs mentions in the comments here that he's brought it up before.

God, like half of the cast are actually criminals of different sorts. The secrets we've seen previously were child's play compared to this (only Arei's was severe enough)

I’ve now finished looking through CH2 and compiled any evidence or noted anything at all that is noteable that each person did throughout it. I will not be providing a theory on Arei’s murder as I really do have no good idea that has not been said before, but I will both lay out my suspects from least to most likely, as well as provide a theory on what really happened to Ace. I’ll start with notes on Ace’s almost death. - What caused the *bang* that alerted Teruko and Eden to the gym? - Nico doesn’t have his jacket on. - Nico is holding a bloody wire. - Was turpentine really used? Very likely, but no way to know for sure. - Fan is on the ground with one half of that bloody wire taped to it. - Rose mentioned that the bar is slippery the next day, is it slippery in the moment Ace was attacked? - A broom? - There is a step stool present. - Ace’s only notable would is the large gash all across his neck. - Nobody was able to go into the gym from after Teruko left to the next morning. - Where did Nico go after running away? Now for my theory. I believe that the one who attacked Ace was Rose. Here’s how it would happen: Ace went to the gym to exercise. When he went to do a pull-up, he slipped off of the bar due to turpentine being applied to it. He was confused, and he sniffed his hand, making him pass out. This is where Rose comes in. She taped the wire to the fan using the tape in the gym, and used the step stool to hang Ace on it. She then leaves. Nico soon walks in and sees Ace in the air. Using the broom he was carrying, he swiped at Ace, knocking him down and breaking the wire. His jacket is off because he was just painting with Rose. He drops the broom and picks up the wire, and then Teruko and Eden walk in. I know it is very unlikely for Rose to do this, but it is the most logical thing I can come up with without saying that Nico actually attacked Ace himself. I will now lay out my suspects for Arei’s death from least to most likely in my opinion. At dead last I have a 3 way tie between Whit, Charles, and Levi. I legitimately couldn’t find a single thing about any of them that might even make me consider them being the culprit. This was probably because they didn’t have a lot of screen time this chapter. Next up is another tie, this time between Arturo, Veronika, and Hu. For these three, there was either only one or two things that caught my eye, but is in no way convincing. Veronika doesn’t want to reveal her secret to Teruko. Arturo is constantly following J for basically the whole chapter, and Hu’s secret makes her uncomfortable, and her nickname is Julia which may cause confusion at the trial. The next person is Nico. They: - Were taking care of the fish in the relaxation room. ( probably not important, but I wanted to take note) - Was taught by Rose how to paint. - Publicly threatened Ace’s life. I do think that the Ace and Nico storyline will be crucial to the culprit’s truck in the case, so I find it unlikely that they will be the real killer and will play more of a side role in the narrative. Next up is Ace. I don’t truly believe he’ll be the culprit because I think he will be more important later, am I’m taking a guess on chapter 4 victim. As for what I found about him this chapter, it is actually surprising little. All of note is that he had some kind of elastic stretchy band ( seen in the 2nd floor investigation ), and he had Nico’s secret. So all in all, I think there is little chance he killed Arei. Next is J. She: -Has a brother too. ( important? Maybe not) - Was constantly followed by Arturo, which could act as an alibi or potential accomplice. - And wanted to go into the gym on the 4th morning. (How did she lose Arturo?) These things are not really that convicting, but she did have negative feelings towards Arei, and the Arturo parts could be interesting. All in all, J is slightly more convincing than Ace, but not by a lot. My next suspect is Eden. I couldn’t compile much on her., but what I did get is very interesting. Both are things she said. One is when Teruko asked her about Arei, and she said that her and Arei: “talked and made up! Ahaha… It’s all fine now. Everything’s great!” This is a very suspicious line, which inclines me to believe that she did more than just ‘talking’ with her. The other line is just before the BDA, where she suddenly shouts: “Teruko, wait-“. Now this is much more intriguing, as it means either Eden: 1. Knew Arei was dead and saw the body. 2. Thought something else was in the playground. 3. Killed Arei So while lacking in actions and physical evidence, Eden is suspicious because of her words. Second to last is Rose. There are many things that are kind of suspicious about her in this chapter so far. - We know her secret - She taught Nico how to paint - Apparently has been to the gym the same day Ace was attacked(adding to my earlier theory) - Wanted to go back to the gym the morning that she heard that Nico attacked Ace. Did she want to go back there because of that? - She mentioned grippy tape for the pull up bar, which could possibly be the same tape that we saw on the fan. To me, Rose is the second most likely suspect as she seems to be connected to the incident that happened with Ace, which means she may also be connected to Arei’s murder in some way. And finally I have David. He: - Could be lying about his secret. - Knows Arei’s secret. - Chased after Arei when she left. - Was “awfully tired” on the last night. (Nervous about something David?) - Supposedly went to the relaxation room the night before the BDA. - And was the first to notice Arei’s absence at the secret reveal. What is his observation, or did he know something? David is the most suspicious because he is seen around Arei, and was seen going after her. He disappeared to the second floor to do who knows what, and noticed she wasn’t at the meeting. All these things point to him and Arei being around each other, and him potentially being the last person she ever saw. Now that I have all my suspects laid out, I will put down my random thoughts that I noted during my rewatch. These are things that don’t point to a culprit but things that could be important in the trial of to the plot later. - Who was talking at the very beginning of CH2? - J is on the CH2 title card. - Incense burners in the relaxation room. - Relaxation room is off limits from 10pm to 8am because of an auto misting system. - The playground ground is soft. - The playground is 2 stories high, next to the movie screening room. - The walls between the students rooms are not soundproof. - Arei’s rope went into the storage. - Whit’s secret went to either Rose, Hu, or Levi. - Eden has one of the male student’s secret. - Who is Richard Spurling? - Why is there are dent in the computer lab wall? What or who caused it? - Teruko can’t differentiate between people’s faces? And that is all I have for this investigation. I put down everything of note that I could find. Okay so we now know some additional information: - The playground is scuffed - The spinny thingy has tape on some bars - There are dead fish all over the playground - Arei has a broken neck and no other injuries -Arei’s wrists show signs of being bound - Arei’s rope is stashed near the spinny thingy - There is a ripped up note in the trash - One of the lights in the playground were flickering and is now turned off. - David has to be lying about his secret - Teruko and Hu’s old clothes are balled up and stuck together with starch I’m going to take some time to try and match up the secrets to everyone I think they are and I’ll update once I do that Ok what I have so far are the ones we 100% know for sure Your older brother died but you don’t remember him at all - Charles Blackmail, rumors, lying, stealing slander, You did everything you could to ruin your sisters lives - Arei You took on your talent to earn money for your family, but you’ve since put them in a lifetime of debt - Rose You hide your name and birthgift to pretend that you aren’t the daughter of Mariabella Rosales - J You’re constantly blaming yourself for the death of your parents and sibling. It doesn’t matter that it’s not your fault, just that you didn’t go with them. - Xander No one accepted you because of your identity. You were constantly mocked by your family, your peers, and everyone else. - Nico Now I’ll put everyone else to what I’m guessing is their secrets. If we learn any secrets, I’ll move them up to the 100% category Your body is falling apart,but you’ll still refuse to eat - Arturo How could I even select what secret to be your motive! Just about everything you’ve done in your life is worth killing for. The killing game is all your fault. - Teruko Ever since you kissed her, you were afraid your sexuality would ruin your friendships. - Min You exist to manipulate others. Everything else exists to be taken advantage of. - David You always treated the competition with ruthlessness, but poisoning them to win was a bit too far wasn’t it? - Ace You only took on your talent to distract yourself from your incessant need to harm yourself for fun. - Veronika Your younger sister killer herself because of you. You should have never left. - Eden You were quite the hopeless child. Dying once wasn’t enough, so you attempted suicide three times. - Whit Your mother is dead. You always omit that truth. - Hu You’re a murderer, but you hold no remorse. - Levi Let me know if you have any different opinions on what could change.

Pls write in the comments if i missed something. - Hu and J share a name - Eden saying wait to teruko might imply that she knows smth about this - Whit also was hesitant for teruko to enter the playground - The murder is bloodless this time so Charles might have something to do with it and albo hes gonna participate in the trial - Theres a dent in the wall in the computer lab - Hus weapon is a wire so theres propably some connection to what happened to Ace - Roses turpentine might not have been stolen by Nico but some else since shes so absentminded and it mightve been used on Arei not Ace we dont know - Areis body is missing the glove - I guess Eden has taken those clocks down for the activity so there that - Teruko cant recognize faces - The non speaking arei in the cafeteria couldve been someone else like others are saying (probaply J cause actress mom and her and arei already look similar and share the same height) - Theres no stepstool in the playground so i dont think this was a suicide and also it says in the rules that a trial wont be held for suicides and by the thumbail we can see that there is gonna be one - David seemed like he really didnt want monotv to reveal those secrets (hes also just acting weird overall) - Both David and Eden talked with Arei off screen David chased after this whole thing in the cafeteria and Eden we dont know when - Whit and Charles talked about machine learning (i dunno how that would be used but the scene was long so maybe smth) - Eden implied someone was following her when she met with teruko before the thing with Ace ( That may mean that someone other than Ace - Some other commenter said that the murders are similar to the canon games ( Xander stabbing Teruko is similar to Sayaka trying to stab Leon, also Ace nearly died in the gym which is where chihiro was found also hanging by wires). This might imply that just like in the canon game in chapter 2 someone messed with the crime scene. In the canon it was Byakuya and here it could be Veronica.

SPOILERS(+ theory) 18:46 There's a part that says "i didn't mean", other part says "playground" another one says "at 7:30pm",anddddd another part says "please meet m-" I also saw the word "friend" This is what i came up with: So this letter could've been written by anyone except Teruko(obvious reason, we've been watching teruko) It looks like the note is kinda long, so it will probably include these sentences: "I want to apologize, i didn't mean to say those things" "i'd like to be your friend" "please meet me at 7.30pm in the playground" Now here are some things that are bothering me(along with some theories of different scenarios): 1.The handwriting doesn't seem like Arei's(remember on chapter 1 she made an arm wrestling contest) idk if she used a different handwriting to be more polite or... tried to kill Eden and used a different handwriting to avoid suspicion 2. If the letter was from someone else, then they had to be present during the conflict between Arei and Eden...David. butttt i am probably wrong thinking Eden was the one who got the letter, this brings me to another point 😭 3. If Eden got the letter, why didn't she said anything or at least got nervous when she saw Rose trying to fix it?(i am sure Eden is not the killer btw, shes too obvious) 4. Arei definitely has something to do with the letter, why would she just randomly be at the playground at 7 pm? Now lets go crazy and think of a totally different scenario yay David made that letter(pretending to be Eden)and sent it to Arei Then he manipulated the culprit, showing them the secret he had(the one who says something like "you're the reason this killing game is happening" and hes like covering the real person's name(probably Xander or something)after that he convinces the killer to kill Arei(probably saying "she must be the mastermind, lets work together to end this killing game) That would mean the letter actually says something like "i know you didn't mean what you said to me, i'd like to be your friend bla bla bla meet me at 7:30pm" And they kill her and blame Eden yay Ok theres no way thats actually gonna happen btw , i'm just bored and came up with the first thing i thought of cuz making dumb theories is funny

Spoilers I never expected Arei to die 2nd I thought it would be Ace or Nico I'm really sad and regret disliking Arei and misunderstanding her.

The names to the left hand side of the secret are the people who received that secret. Charles’ secret has J, J’s secret has Arturo, Nico’s secret has Ace.

I feel like Veronika has something to do with this. Probably not the actual murderer, but like a Byakuya situation

The only thing I know for sure is that David is super suspicious. Even in chapter 1, I always found it weird that he suddenly cared about Xander when around his intro he admitted he found fans like him frustrating, so he's always been on my mind. I say he's suspicious, but I don't know for sure if he's the killer. Him being the manipulator is a secret that's fitting both for his talent and how he's been acting in this chapter, always trying to control the narrative, so if that IS his deal, then I feel like he could've pulled a Kokichi Gonta situation and manipulated someone else into doing the actual murder. Or he really does have nothing to do with it and he has some other agenda trying to control the situation. Whatever happens, I'm eager to see where he goes.

Veronika and Teruko were talking about face memory which seems connected, J is a similar height, eye and hair colour and her mother is a famous actress, probably a stretch tho aha. Here are my current predictions for who the culprit is, subject to change when the episode airs. Spoilers ahead: 16 and 15: Xander and Min If we open up the possibility of ghosts, this whole list becomes pointless. 15: Teruko I know that just because she's the protagonist she can be eliminated (cough cough V3), but we do see everything she does and there is nothing that is suspicious about her actions. For one thing, she never went near any rope, so she can be safely ruled out. 13: Ace He is severely injured and would probably not have the physical capability to commit this murder. Furthermore, from what we can see of the scene so far, the murder seems rather meticulously done and Ace is simply too stupid to achieve that. Besides, even if he could commit the crime, he would target Nico, not Arei. 12: Arei Depending on whether a trial is announced in the next episode or not, she will move either to the top or bottom of this list, but until then I'm considering every possibility. The reason she's so low is because her feet appear to be slightly above the swings and there is no stepladder visible. If she did hang herself, she had to have jumped up into the noose, which is not how you typically commit suicide. Also, after the fake-out death just last episode, I doubt they will skip out on a class trial now. 11: Charles I've seen people say this is one fo the few murders he could commit due to lack of blood, but it wouldn't make much narrative sense to kill him off now as he had very little presence in this chapter and he seems to be in the middle of an arc. He wasn't involved in any of the major events that happened in this chapter, so I don't see a reason to suspect him. 10: Whit Similar to Charles, he didn't do enough in this chapter to be suspicious and could be better utilised as a later chapter death (probably ch.4). He did appear hesitant to enter the playground, but that isn't enough for me to suspect him. 9: Veronika Like the above, she isn't connected to any of the main events, though she isn't in the middle of an arc so could still be killed here. Some believe she might have interfered with the crime scene since she was in the cinema the previous night, when Arei likely died, which is connected to the playground, and I can honestly see that. 8: Levi His conflict with Ace had some relevance, but he doesn't seem to be connected to either crime scene. I'm confident that the Ace's attack is connected to Arei's murder, and I doubt he is the one that attacked him. He's only this high neck from a narrative point of view it wouldn't feel too strange for him to die here. 7: Rose She had some presence in this chapter, though doesn't appear to be related to the crime other than being in the gym the day Ace was attacked and her turpentine _possibly_ being used in the crime, although she mentions it was stolen and I see no reason to suspect she was lying. This is where the list of people to actually suspect begins. 6: Arturo He's present so much in this chapter it would make sense for him to die here. Admittedly there is not much evidence against him but the crime scene is rather clean, which he could achieve as a medical practitioner, and if J was connected to this that would be reason enough to suspect him. 5: Nico There is no way the incident with Ace is not related to this crime, and Nico is at the centre of this incident. This would therefore make it unlikely they are the actual culprit as that would be too obvious, they are definitely going to be accused in the first two minutes of the trial (by Ace) and figuring out what happened with them is going to be important. 4: J For someone who is on the cover art for the chapter, she is surprisingly absent from this chapter; if not the culprit, she is very likely heavily involved in the crime. This is admittedly a meta reason for suspecting her but is important to note, I feel. Also, some people have mentioned that she may have disguised herself as Arei for the short scene she was in last chapter with their similar appearances and her acting skills, and because Teruko is suggested to have prosopagnosia she wouldn't notice it immediately. 3: Eden Some of the things she said in this chapter were rather suspicious. She thinks someone is following her when Teruko goes into the dressing room to collect her clothes, and never properly explains what she was doing there in the first place (I don't believe it was to simply bring Teruko her clothes as she claims). When asked about her fight with Arei, she claims to have talked about it and made up but also asks Teruko to pry, which suggests there is more going on there. She also tries to stop Teruko from going into the playground, which is mighty suspicious for someone who isn't supposed to know what's in it. That being said, I don't actually believe she killed her but she probably will play an important role in the trial. 2: David Almost everyone in this comment section is suspecting it's David, and for good reason. He ran after her after the event in the playground, went to the relaxation room alone right before nighttime, which is right next to the scene of the crime, was the first person to notice Arei was missing and was trying to push everyone into revealing their secrets while likely lying about his own. Everything is pointing to him being the culprit, it's almost too obvious, which makes me hesitant to actually suspect him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was to be suspected in the trial. 1: Hu Currently my highest suspect for the murder. She is neither too obvious nor completely unrelated to the crime. She is pretty involved with the Ace/Nico conflict and could have something to do with the incident, especially since her wire was used and she never mentions it being stolen. She also kind of shares a name with J, which could be used to cause confusion. Finally, she seems to be the most worried about the motive, which might push her to commit this crime. I could be (and probably am) wrong about a lot of these and this is subject to change when we actually start the investigation, but I wanted to get my thoughts down here. I'll probably edit this comment with updated predictions when I watch the episode.

!!!SPOILERS BELOW!!! Here's my opinion on the motive secrets. David - Arei was confronting him about his secret before Eden and Teruko walked in. Veronika - She kind of constantly psycho analyses others a lot of the time Ace - He has a really low weight, and tends to eat food not high in calories. Also hates Meat which is a filling food. Hu - She wasn't comfortable with revealing her secret just yet, and would've been fine had it been revealed publically. J - Was revealed already by Arturo Arei - Was revealed by herself Min - It fits her Visting Graves episode with the Ultimate Contest and how she dedicated her life to it. It'd also leave someone out the motives if it was given out. Xander: RE: Arei - Except that he feels bad about not visiting his family in Chariton. His secret quote is also the definition of Survivor's Guilt which fits this motive. Whit - One of Rose, Hu, or Levi had to have his secret due to no one speaking up when he asked someone to reveal it. His secret quote was also "We tend to idolize the dead" which could be about his mother. Charles - Was revealed by J. Levi - He has personal drama with his family, I feel like since he left them it might've caused a big impact on her. He doesn't mention a sister, but he could be hiding it tbh. Eden - This was hard to pinpoint, Eden doesn't really fit for any of these not going to lie. I think since she tends to get absorbed in her work with clocks and also doing other fun activities, it keeps her mind off of these type of thoughts. Arturo - I feel like this could be based off self esteem issues on looks which is why he tends to go on beautiful vs ugly and is a plastic surgeon. Rose - Revealed by Teruko Nico - Revealed by Ace/David Teruko - I feel like due to her talent causing misfortune not just on herself, but others-- she cursed her class with this Killing Game. A lot of these I decided on were looking on their character personalities and thoughts from friends.

I just took a peek at the ‘secret quotes’, and a few are interesting…. Arturo says “You hated them, but even that doesn’t justify what you did.” That’s interesting… ‘Them’ could be Nico, and ‘You’ could be Ace. That brings some dastardly ideas to mind on what Ace is gonna do… Hu says “I want to pay for what I’ve done. But even then, I still want to live.” Hu might just be a killer. David’s is “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you. I wish you could just die.” You didn’t make Arei do the uh oh, did you David? Eden’s is “You can’t go back, no matter how hard you try.” That’s sus. And J’s is “Please don’t call me your daughter ever again.” Is Miriabella the mastermind?

Like I said in the previous video, I am like 90% sure David is the killer. He most definitely lied about his secret, and Arei knew about it (maybe she got his secret), and she was gonna confront him about it in Episode 5 before we interrupted. And there's no one else who had reason to kill her that we've seen.

Another great episode. I have two theories. 1. The secret Arei received, "You're a murderer, and you hold no remorse," belongs to Hu. In Episode 7, after Ace said, "Oh, okay, taking sides with the murderer, I see! How admirable of you, Hu!" Arei made an unreadable expression (timestamp 1:54). Some people have said this moment might've been J disguised as Arei; while that is certainly possible, another possibility is that Arei was looking at Hu in suspicion due to Hu's secret seemingly lining up with her defense of Nico's actions. And as other people have pointed out, Hu's custom weapon is wire, which was used in the incident with Ace. This moment with Arei is also the only time she was shown in the same room as Hu after MonoTV gave out the secrets. Arei and Hu had a consistent dynamic in Chapter 1 where Hu would try to rein in Arei's antagonism, so what changed? Was Arei silently avoiding Hu up to Episode 7 (like how Teruko was avoiding Rose)? Did she decide to do something about the secret by then? This could very well be a stretch, but might be worth thinking about. 2. Arei tried to make up with Eden shortly before her death. It would've been a logical first step for Arei to take if she decided to start redeeming herself after her scene with David. Perhaps it didn't go well, based on Eden's nervous reaction when Teruko brought up Arei in the dress-up room. Maybe this theory is more plausible than the other one, but my main suspects are Hu and J for now. I have thoughts about Nico too based on the first theory, but... let's see the start of the trial first. The Ace-Nico incident will probably be one of the first things brought up. Looking forward to it.

Since we already know Rose, J, Nico, Charles, and Arei's, those can be left out. I'll give some thoughts on some of the other secrets (partly from talking with others) and totally not overthink and miss the mark on them. - Hu: Hu's being the one about kissing a woman and sexuality ruining friendships makes sense considering she was quick to support and emphasize with Nico's. - Whit's mother being dead works from his behaviour and such. - "Poisoning the competition" might be Min. - The one on taking the talent to distract from self-harm might actually be Veronika. She talked about being bored and it being hard to find herself entertained enough even with horror. Plus, she wears long arm socks, which could hide scars. - "Your body is falling apart, but you'll still refuse to eat" does make me think of Arturo. - Someone suggested the "you exist to manipulate others" one could in fact be Eden, as she's been shown to be more manipulative than you'd think. - While the one about attempting suicide three times would fit for Teruko (as she openly talked about failed suicides, from experience), that she openly spoke about it without issue, makes me think that wouldn't be hers. Perhaps the bottom right one about the killing game "being all her fault" is Teruko's. It'd also serve to cause a lot of additional drama that way.

So this is a slightly weird theory on how the death occures but bear with me. I think the roundabout was used to snap her neck. Maybe the rope was attached to the sand paper and it was spun, put she was held in place somehow and couldnt move due to her tied wrists. Idk what could keep her down but it could relate to whats missing from the gym.

Spoilers David feels too much like a red herring. It's too obvious? Either someone's setting him up, he has a bigger role in the future or I'm delusional. With what i can tell, the culprit is never that obvious, everything is quite literally leading us to believe David did it. The background with Arei, the emotional conversation they had, David having gone into the room previous seemingly exhausted, his indecisiveness. All of it seems to be like a huge "Hey!! Look it's me!!!" when it really isn't. I genuinely don't think it's him and if it is, it'd be a bit disappointingly predictable.

Teruko and Hu's clothes probably have something to do with the relaxation room, remember monotv said watering the plants gets the turf sticky or something? But idk cuz the area is off limits when watering the plants -The murder probably happened between 7:30pm-10:00pm The letter Rose found has these words on it: "please meet m-", "at 7.30" and "playground" but Nico probably was feeding the fish around that time... idk, maybe David(or someone else) will reveal something important in the class trial, so just gotta wait

spoilers for this episode i don't think the culprit is david. this is only a guess, but i think he's going to be the antagonist-like character throughout DRDT. not a character like nagito or kokichi, but rather just as an opponent to teruko. both teruko and david seem to be morally gray characters, which would make an interesting conflict throughout future chapters. a good antagonist needs to have some sort of parallel to the protagonist, which he does appear to have a bit of similarities to teruko. they both seem to be hiding a lot, they both tend to lead discussions (david leading group discussions, teruko leading the trial - although that might've just been for chapter one, however with her being the protagonist and all i doubt that), they both have a dark side to them (although a lot of characters seem to have that, so that might not be relevant to my point). david seems like a character who could have interesting development, and if he were to end up the culprit with some big plot twist in the trial that he was a murderer or something, i feel like it would be wasted character potential and would erase all the character buildup we've gotten so far.

Good to see Teroku called David out on his lie 😂 But it’s probably not him since it would be too obvious as much as he is very questionable. After seeing this investigation, seeing the motives, and reading the comments. I think it’s probably Levi, especially if the theory of Arei going to talk with the person and getting killed for it. Levi’s mannerisms in the first trial hint at his motive being he’s a murder and by process of elimination as well it points to him. Also adding Hu to top suspects since everyone is saying it’s her based on her trying to do stuff in the chapter which can be considered her on screen character development, kinda of. And the motives of dead sister and murder could in theory be swapped with Levi and Hu. My only hesitation is during David’s hope speech about revealing the motives, she seemed more jokingly hesitant to say what her motive could be. Like she would probably would have reacted more cold to the idea rather than just shrugging it off if she a is a murderer lol Also Teroku’s is so the last one about her being the reason for the killing game. Just watch David’s interactions with her after the motive and you’ll see. Along with the intro cutscene in the prologue. Probably not the mastermind but rather a reason for the mastermind to create the game as seen in the intro.

Spoiler Warning !! I wonder how many of you caught the fact there's a dent in the wall of the computer lab back in episode 7 that was not there before. You may want to take that into account when deciding a culprit because that is likely going to contribute to this case and possibly point towards a culprit with more physical strength. However, this also raises the question of what would happen if Arei had any wounds on her from supposedly being bashed into this dent which is the only justifiable thing I think could have happened. The BDA shows a lack of any wounds, but do you all remember who is capable of patching up such wounds? None other than Arturo Giles himself who has been shown to patch wounds on Levi and not even to his full extent. Knowing that, I think it would be reasonable to assume someone with decent physical strength and wanted to get more of it like J for example would make a reasonable killer with Arturo as an accomplice. I may need to develop more stuff but someone last episode dropped a really good theory that I would like to add onto later once I have all the proper information collected. Regardless, do keep the wall dent in mind when choosing a culprit because you'll be grasping at straws otherwise.

The motive that David got was quite intresting, I'm wondering if it's terukos considering teruko said that she had too many secrets and didn't know which one would be on there, David's motive lines up with that perfectly (If your wondering where his motive is it's at the bottom right of the motive screen)

Reasons why I think David did it: He claimed he was « tired » and needed a « break » everyone brushed it off as him worrying about the motive secrets after that whit sent him to the relaxation room and wouldn’t u know it that’s we’re the fishes are not to mention him and teruko were the only people who knew areis secret also his secret « of having a long history of depression » isn’t even on the board and he was going back on his idea about the secrets not being revealed that at least for me makes me feel like he has done something

Potential SPOILERS? (I mean, I got the last prediction right, doubt twice in a row but still gonna say it.) Look, I've seen the debate on Arei's arc and whether or not it was a good thing to kill her off. I am on the side that her arc concluding with her death being just days (moments for the audience) after she tried to make an effort to be kind to people is pure tragic irony. If this trial goes the way I think it will, then Arei's death will completely justify her worldview and method of survival by making sure the kind suffer to learn from it, and Teruko will learn that lesson too, retreating further back into her repression. BTW, I think it's David.

Xander : His family dying He mentioned that in the bonus episode and his and Min's are most likely swapped. Veronika : Self harm Most of her body is covered and the part explaining her getting bored easily, etc. Her talent is also the only one which seems to be fun. Ones you could switch around easily (starting with the secrets) Manipulator : Eden or David (Leaning with David) David could be the manipulator based on his sussy behavior. Also makes sense based on his talent. Eden also for her behavior. The body falling apart and refusing to eat : Arturo or Ace (Leaning with Arturo, but either goes) Arturo's obsession with beauty, Ace's hate for his job (maybe from his health issues like Hajime Makunouchi from SDRA2), and both refusing to eat at some point in the game Sexuality : Min or Hu (Min makes more sense) Ik I said Min would be swapped with Xander but Unnamed Classmate X Min! Ace: Your body is falling apart, but you’ll still refuse to eat. I think this because apparently he’s the second lightest out of all the drdt characters, and someone else made a theory about this saying weight is very important in being a jockey. He also dislikes meat and refused to eat cake. Arturo: You took on your talent to distract from your incessant need to hurt yourself for fun. He wears a mask and gloves which could potentially hide the scars from hurting himself. He also became a plastic surgeon which I believe you cut body parts in that job. Cutting your own skin is hurting yourself. He cuts others instead of himself. David: How could I even select what secret to be your motive? Just about every secret in your life is worth killing for. The killing game is your fault! You can see he has his own secret so no one could disprove him lying. He’s secretly very lazy and depressed as well. This could possibly be because of his many secrets. Min: You always treated the competition with ruthlessness, but poisoning them was a bit too far, wasn’t it? Xander received this secret probably because they’re both dead so their secrets hold no meaning. Also, Min probably has Xander’s secret. Min said she doesn’t think she was chosen because she had the highest score but because of dedication. Poisoning someone is definitely great dedication. It also says “you always treated the competition with ruthlessness” so it’s not just referring to how she poisoned someone, but what other things she did to win. She studied all the time and I mean all the time. That is definitely ruthless. Veronika: You’re a murderer, and you hold no remorse. She’s obsessed with gore and psychology, so she probably killed someone to know what it feels like. During the first trial she felt very happy in a situation related to murder. I’m guessing she felt happy after killing so she didn’t regret it. Xander: You’re constantly blaming yourself for the death of your parents and siblings. It doesn’t matter that it’s not your fault, just that you didn’t go with them. Min received this one and as I said, I believe they received each other’s secrets because they’re dead. His secret quote is the definition of survivor’s guilt, and the secret talks about experiences of survivor’s guilt. Also, in his bonus episode, he was saying things about so many people dying and being jealous that he wasn’t there. Hu: Ever since you kissed her, you were afraid your sexuality would ruin your friendships. I don’t see why she wouldn’t share this because Nico said they were non-binary and everyone was supportive so she knew they’d be supportive of her. However, it could be her because of how she empathised with Nico during this. I can’t think of anyone else whom this secret could belong to. Levi: You exist to manipulate others. Everyone else exists to be taken advantage of. Levi seems very emotionless and doesn’t react to bad situations in a good way. He just doesn’t care. This is a good trait if you want to manipulate someone because you won’t feel guilty. His family also disowned him, possibly because he tried to manipulate them.

I don't think J did it, she has no reason to get out. Actually, I think her best course of action is to NOT get out. She's the daughter of a celebrity, killing in a game being broadcasted to the world to escape would be stupid for her 'cause she likes not having the spotlight. Murdering someone would make it worse for her.

So that makes me wonder if the secret that belongs to David is the one that Arei had with her... that could also explain why is David being so inconsistent and suspicious just like Teruko pointed out. Also, i've seen some people in the comments pointing out to the possibility of Arturo's secret being the one about the eating disorder, since his talent revolves around beauty standarts and stuff. If that's the case, then Hu's secret could be the one about being manipulative, but i don't really see it though. Maybe it belongs to Arturo instead? I'm not really sure... What do you guys think?

I've heard a few people say that the Arei at lunch before she was killed was actually J in disguise. And I have to wonder, what is the reason for that?? Other than to get away from Arturo, I guess...

So I'm confused about something. MonoTV said that Min and Xander also participated in this motive, despite already being dead, and supposedely some of the students got their secrets. So then, does this mean "Min and Xander" also received the secrets of others? Wouldn't that mean that those secrets were never shared with the people alive and thus didn't influence anything? The secrets Min and Xander got are: " You're constantly blaming yourself for the death of your parents and siblings. It doesn't matter that is not your fault, just that you didn't go with them" "You always treated the competition with ruthlessness, but poising them was a bit too far wasn't it?" I got a theory that Min and Xander actually got each other's secrets, just cause otherwise it would be weird if two students that were still alive were excluded of the motive since their secrets wouldn't have been given to any other alive student. Xander would the blaming yourself for the death, since we know about that tragedy that happened thanks to the extra episode. And Min's could be the poison one, since technically she was in a competition to see who would become the Ultimate Student and maybe she poisoned someone so they couldn't take the exam?

Aight so spoilers: My first pick for a culprit is David, considering his secret about depression in his family, but Eden not wanting Teruko to investigate the playground d is also a bit suspicious.

I saw all the "J was actually disguised as Arei and Teruko couldn't tell because of the whole "note being able to recognize faces" thing" I was like "pffft thats not gonna happen. I know they're pretty similar but it just seems unlikely" And then I noticed the title card for deadly life being J with a shadow with long hair behind her . . . . .

Idk bout the others, but I think that Arturo's secret is the one about harming himself for fun. To me, his obsession about beautiful people is because either he thinks that he's ugly, or people used to tell him that he was. Therefore, it drove him to try and change his body so he'd be beautiful. My guess is that under his mask, he's heavily mutilated or something.

SPOILERS Okay, here's my theory. Most people I've seen theorizing assume that the person who attacked Ace and the person who attacked Arei are the same person, or that the second attacker tried to frame Nico by using the same murder method. But I'd like to argue that that's not something we can safely assume. Because I don't think there were only two people involved with this case. I think there were three. Let me explain. We'll start with Ace's case (haha that rhymes). My guess for who tried to kill Ace? Hu. Not only was her weapon found at the scene of the crime, but thanks to her adamantly defending Nico, people aren't going to initially assume she'd frame them. Maybe when her, David, and Nico were talking, Nico mentioned that they were going to be near the gym or something later that night and Hu decided to use it to her advantage. All she had to do was make sure no one discovered Ace's body before Nico, (hence her stalking Eden to make sure she didn't mess things up), and no one would suspect her. Why would she, who had been defending Nico all day, try to frame them? It'd be the perfect cover up. But when Ace didn't actually die, her plans got muddled, and now she has to deal with the aftereffects. This would also explain why she seemed rather unconcerned about the fact that Ace almost died the next morning. Now on to Arei being murdered. I've been seeing a lot of people say J was disguised as Arei, (I'm not gonna explain the whole theory here, so I'd recommend reading it yourself), in order to cover up the timeframe of the crime, and Arturo helped her. I'd like to agree with this theory and add that whether Arturo was aware he was assisting a murder is up for debate, but I'd bet he would be so blinded with admiration he wouldn't even realize J was using him as an accomplice. After J kills Arei, she leaves her body somewhere, whether that be the playground, or maybe the changing room since the lights are usually off. This could also potentially explain why Eden was being stalked, as she was close to discovering the body. And then when Arei goes missing, J immediately volunteers to check Arei's room, where she knows Arei's body won't be and that way she can't mess up the BDA. But I doubt J would do something as messed up as hanging her. Her involvement in the murder would already be pretty unnoticeable, so framing Nico that way wouldn't really be necessary, since people would most likely assume they committed the murder just based on the fact they tried to murder before, regardless of the method. But someone would gladly make a murder more messed up than it had to be purely for symbolism of Arei's past, not to mention the horrified looks on everyone's faces. Veronika. MonoTV made a strange comment at the beginning of the chapter about how someone could break through the wall of the movie screening room to get into the playground, and later that the ground in the playground was squishy so that no one would get hurt on the playground equipment. And guess who, (besides Teruko) was the only person who was around to hear both of those comments and went to the movie screening room the night before Arei's body was found? Veronika. Veronika sets up Arei's body so it looks like she was hung, even though she wasn't, (which is why Arei looks so peaceful and not like she was suffocating when she died, a different method, probably something to do with the dent in the wall in the the computer lab, was used to kill her). Then she waits for everyone to go back upstairs and to bed before finally leaving Arei's body and going to bed as well. In the trial, Nico is immediately blamed for Ace's almost-death and Arei's actual death, only for them to claim they weren't responsible for either. So the class revisits Ace's almost-death and realizes that Hu was responsible. Most of the class assumes she must be responsible for Arei's death as well, but she claims she actually didn't have any involvement in that crime. This is eventually proved by the fact that Hu wasn't around when MonoTV said he was putting the rope in storage, so she wouldn't have known she could use it for the crime. Then J (or whoever committed Arei's murder, not completely sure on that yet) is revealed as Arei's murderer, and case closed. The reason I'm so adamant about Hu's involvement is her secret quote, which is something along the lines of, "I want to pay for what I've done, but even then I want to live". At first I assumed that she must be a culprit because of this, but then I realized that the quote only really confirms she ATTEMPTED to kill someone, and that she wants to be held responsible but doesn't want to die. So this quote would still fit this scenario. It would also lead to a really cool setup, one that I know Danganronpa fans have been hoping for for a long time, which is the rest of the cast having to keep living with someone who attempted murder. This could also further Ace and Teruko's whole 'trusting others' plotline. Edit: Something I noticed about J when looking at the thumbnail is that the shadow of her hood, which covers some of her face, makes part of her face look a little evil. The side with no shadow looks nervous and a little panicked, which is no surprise considering they're in a class trial and could die. But if you focus solely on the part of her face that's covered in shadow, that part of her face looks determined, almost angry. Seeing as the chapter title is 'all the glitters' which is part of the saying 'not all that glitters is gold', this is another reason why J seems suspicious to me. I definitely think she's hiding something other than her familial connections. And that's it. I might add more later. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
