After students complete this lesson presentation and the related course work, they will understand the scope and sequence of patient assessment for medical and trauma patients and all the phases and components of patient assessment. Please note that this chapter is divided into five sections: scene size-up, primary assessment, history taking, secondary assessment, and reassessment. These divisions will help facilitate the instructor’s approach for teaching this skill as a whole concept.
