To enjoy the Aoi Matsuri, one of the three major festivals in Kyoto, I stayed at the Chapter Kyoto Tribute Portfolio Hotel, a hotel near the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
The Aoi Matsuri's highlight is the splendid procession of about 500 participants in Heian-era costumes. The participants' costumes and ox carts are reproductions of the costumes and implements of the aristocrats of the Heian period.
