Hello everybody! Today I’m sharing my design team project for @chapteronepapers. I’m showing how to create these super easy paper bag pockets which could be used for journals or happy mail. These are so quick to make and I’d love it if you joined me to create one or several of your own! You can see all of the projects created with #chapteronepapersdt here and on IG.

Love the dramatic look of the dry embossed bag! Interesting technique to add the ribbon...first time I've seen it done this way...looks beautiful! white texture paste looks beautiful on kraft. Twine wrap looks great...definitely have to give your technique a try....like how the twine passes through the tag hole and continues wrapping. I recently purchased a set of 3 whale tail pull dies...love the different sizes. Nice work!

Thanks so much! I thought about using texture paste but didn’t have it near me so I used the lace instead. I was also thinking of dry brushing with white paint a little over the embossing would be beautiful or even dry brushing the bag and embossing after it dried. I’ll have to experiment with that. I imagine several pastel paint colors could be cool too! I think I only have two sizes of the whale tail dies and they are so cute but I forget to use them😂

I love, love, love this project and the kits you used! 💕💕💕 I have quite a few of the kits, I need to go and see what might work for it and I have a ton of paper lunch bags as well, some are already embossed. Thank you so much! That bag is a Chapter One digital from the Aqua & Blues kit. Since I printed on a light brown packaging paper, the image is muted. Thank you! My machine is sooooo old 🤣 I’ve probably had it for at least 15 years but it could be longer. It’s a brother XL-2600i. I’m not sure how much it weighs but it has an area to grab on the top back…like a handle for picking it up. 🤍🤍🤍

Thank you! For the images I used as tags, I printed on 65lb cardstock by AstroBrights and for the image I glued to the back of the paper bag, I used Southworth 24lb white linen paper. 🤍🤍🤍

did you use an extra wide embossing folder for the bag?

I used a 5x7 folder for that bag. You could also turn a 4x6 folder sideways to go across if you needed to. I think even just embossing a top portion of a couple of inches on the top could be cute too🤍🤍🤍
