@@mellas9828 to sum it up: they feed into stereotypes, white washed real people (biggest example being kandake, Candace), made some of their only darker characters villains (and have villanized all their darker characters in some way) , and much more. They don’t respect cultures as, again, they’ve made characters based on racist stereotypes. And have done clearly little to no research on the cultures they put in their game (specifically the ones in sumeru). Also, they don’t really have any actually dark characters. Xinyan is the only character who is clearly poc (aside from the treasure hoarders in sumeru) but they’ve whitewashed her in all her art and cutscenes. That’s honestly just the tip of the iceberg, I can go into much more detail if you want though.

@@TheKamasGod Ninguang was originally 5* but they downgraded her later to 4* during launch. Probably bec she wasnt't build properly that time and was very bugged especially her elemental burst. The gemstones flew randomly everywhere instead of targeting enemies properly. This was fixed later tho they cant upgrade her to 5* anymore.

While I won't deny the fact that she's definitely based of Egyptian mythology, I think shes clearly also related to the idea of Kushite Kandakes. Not only because of the name but also because Kandakes were woman sisters to the Kings that had authority over large amounts of land and Candace is a descendent (not sister but related enough) of King Deshret(scarlet king) and very clearly has authority over what happens in Aaru Village
