Best way to learn any Monster or Weapon bro! I didn't expand from Glaive until i was HR 450+ and i really wanted to learn Hammer soo bad so i made a Build, Left my Palico behind, Took off Mantles, w no Evade Window and played Ode To The Destruction over and OVER until i got a Sub 5 minute time... Worked with every Weapon! ☺👍

@@kensheldon7430 Vid was really cool. I got back into monster hunter about 3-4 weeks ago and have been sinking hours into it. I just got up to velkhana in iceborne essentially playing only sword and shield and once I finish Iceborne the plan is to branch off into playing different weapons. I've already started trying to use greatsword and have been steadily learning but still struggle with MR uragaan... Are there any other tips you have besides this for learning weapons better? I've never tried a complete-solo-run on anything (no palico, no mantle) and I think I'll try it, it sounds like a great way to learn.

Sorry this is so late, i didn't see your message till now. If you are still interested i have the perfect thing to help learn EVERY weapon with each new one becoming easier and easier. High Rank Nergigante... More specifically Tempered and AT Nerg, why? You want a tough Monster that won't go down easily, but not so hard that you spent most of the fight popping Max Potions, you will learn Nergigante backwards and fowards which will allow you to focus on timing, combos and hitboxes, But the biggest thing is he's one of the few Monsters with no Status/Ailment besides the occasional Bleed proc, again less time fixing problems, more time finding your rhythm. He's just your straight up brawler perfect for practice. Hope you're still enjoying this masterpiece. 👍

If you're on Playstation 4 or 5 i really could teach you everything you need to know in about ten minutes... No need for these lengthy tutorials. Just in case, my PSN ID is AtomicAltruism BTW You're not at all "too stupid" it took me hundreds of fights with each weapon to even look remotely competent using them. For the record my weakness was the Long Sword, bro those Fade windows took my dumbass almost 1000 fights to get used to.

It's not as hard as people make it out to be. Really all about phial management and how you want to use them. And playing savage axe gets you tons of KO, staggers and knockdowns for huge damage potential.

@@chasegaetze4507 Some Gamers get it right out the box... Most do not, it's in the top 3 most Technical Weapons for a reason, it took me HUNDREDS of Hunts to look remotely competent with CB. I'm glad it wasn't a hastle for you at least 👍

Glad to hear it. Sword and Shield is so OP in World now isn't it? I find the timing and positioning harder to master then the CB personally, but they are both fine choices for Hunts! 😄

In terms of getting used to AEDs, SAEDs, Guardpoints etc i would defer to an in depth Tutorial because i don't all day to type! 😂 Gear i might be able to help with to maximize Damage and ease of play. 1st forget Set Bonuses and focus on Armor with the most Deco Slots possible. 2nd do The Greatest Jagras Quest over and over until you have more than you could want. 3rd aim to Slot in a mix of the following, Focus 2-3 for faster Phial Charging, Capacity Boost to add an extra Phial tic for more Bang for your Buck!, Guead Up for the hardest hitting Monsters, Guard 2-3 as Charging your Shield add 2 levels of Guard by default, as much Crit Eye as possible, Health Boost for survivability... Less time healing = more time attacking, Power Prolonger 2-3 is optional though it does drastically increase the length of time the CB is charged. I tell most people who ask questions like this, if you're on Playstation just add me then we could discuss at any length whatever you want. AtomicAltruism is my ID.

If you've already wrapped your head around the fundamentals of both SAED and SA styles then HELL YEAH!!! It's my favorite way to play, plus it keeps you sharp and responsive when a certain style might be useful in any given fight. You can have a balanced half and half Build and still have WAY too much fun with Charge Blade! ☺👍

I know exactly what you mean, Charge Blade users need the Airline Pre Flight Checks to use! 😂 The only thing i can say is repetition makes for easy work, Barioth for example, he is a crazy boy! Generally with him, Rajang, Odogaron, Yian etc. I'll start by slapping on my Rockstaedy Mantle, make sure i can get off a Wall Bang, Soften his Left Wing, Charge my Shield w Max Phials and Charge my Sword for good measure. Now i'm good to go. I'll try to bait out certain attacks by positioning myself in different locations around him, find my window and break that Wing. Once that is done it's game over for Barioth! Taking these fast boys out takes time and practice to learn, they all get tired eventually, they will repeat moves so when you see a familiar one you can position yourself to punish... That's all it is. Other things that help keep you charged in spite of the fast boys can be as follows, Wall Bangs (when not enraged), Pitfall/Shock Traps, Flash Pods, Guard Pointing slowly builds up K.O. damage for those sweet Topples, Palico's eq with Para/Sleep weapons. Persistence really does pay off... Keep trying my friend! ☺👍

@@kensheldon7430 sadly im a pc guy, and i know MHW is notorious for having absolutely zero crossplay. I'm still grateful that you've answered me, and yes the difficulty spike felt right after I encountered my first Lunastra.

Don't have any plans for that unfortunately as i don't specialize with any one Weapon, as for Peak, do you have the Iceborne Expansion? If so and you're willing to take on AT Velkhana, her Greaves/Legs are best in slot and comes with Peak 3! I use them for most of my Builds. I don't min max for the most part i just use what's comfy. With Full Fatty EVERY Build is comfy! ☺👍

For sure! There are 2 sides to Charge Blades... The 1 is using your Phials for AED/SAED Play and 2 (which does the same if not more Damage) SAVAGE AXE Play! All the Damage minus the Guard Windows, just roll 😊 i have a Savage Build that acts just like a regular weapons with Crit, Wex, Crit Boost, Attack, Agi and Peak. It's beautiful man you gotta try it. When u do, tell me how it goes! 😄

Glad to hear people trying new things in World! The Blade Buff is very useful, for starters it doesn't bounce ie: Minds Eye and IMO more importantly it makes your regular Attacks much faster. It's like 10-15 percent faster while the buff is active, that might not seem like alot at first, but when you're regularly rotating it in throughout your combos it's really effective. What i would suggest is going to the Training Area and using the Sword Buff after Shield Buff and just Wail on the Barrel/Clutch prop using only the 🔺️into 🔺️🔵 combo, time it and when the buff runs out do the same combo for the same amount of time and see the difference. I did and never looked back! 👌

@@cloutlord5033 Weapons yes, Armor no not really, get your hands on Frostfangs CB asap as it will drastically reduce the difficulty of that particular fight!

I kept my Phials charged for Tick K.O.s, i hit the Head and Forlegs as often as possible, Impact Mantle for Maximum K.O. up time, plus those Spinning Attacks are while using a Charged Savage Axe... After a rotation of Hits it will Discharge Phials and deal K.O. Damage when hitting the Head and Forlegs.

Topples = K.O. when you deal enough K.O. Damage the Monster will come crashing down. You can Topple by attacking the Legs, Head and Body depending on the Monster. Head Breaks will often leave the Monster more vulnerable to Topples as well.

Fatalis CB H/Af Aug, 4 Piece Fatalis w AT Velk Greaves, Agi 7, Crit 7, Art 5, Guard 5, Evade 3, Focus 3, Peak 3, Qu Sheath 2, Guard Up, + some tertiary Decorations that came along with the Build. And there you have it, your bog standard End Game/No Life Build. ☺👍

Charge Phials, Charge Shield then Charge Phials again. Once that is done i think you're talking about AEDs, attept an SAED with Triangle followed by Triangle+Circle but as the Sword slots into the Shield pull back on the Left Analog Stick (toward the camera). Try it on the Training Dummy then report back and let me know if that's what u meant. ☺👍

It's just Layered, the Set is as you'd guess, full Fatalis w/AT Velk Greaves and Fatty CB Built for AED/SAEDs with Impact Mantle and a bunch of lucky AEDs to the face... Not a fast Run, just looked pretty great from my POV.

No problem. Impact Phials are set and are NOT effected by Crit, Damage modifiers obviously help like Attack, Agi, Peak etc but for Phial Damage specifically Artillery and or eating for Felyne Bombardier is the Key, and Capacity Boost for that extra Phial. For Raw that is, Element Phials are trickier to Build for properly, but Coalescence, 3-5 Piece Safi will boost, Augment for more Element and for Kjarr don't forget to Custom upgrade for Element too... That will get them CRAZY high Elemental Damage, Kjarr CBs are best for these and don't forget that unlike Impact Phials, Power Element Phials do different damage numbers relative to which part you hit compared to Impact which is set no matter where you hit. I prefer Impact by and large as it's more consistent. Sorry it's long, hope it helps. 👌
