I have a Charge+ (originally G10, but swapped to TTI scales) and a Wave+. The Charge+ swings freely. I disassembled it to change the scales and had to file down a bur when putting on the TTI scales… not sure if that has anything to do with the freely swinging pliers). The Wave+ has the same problems as in this video. I used the same technique to loosen up the piers after gripping them tight as seen in this video and it works. It’s a temporary solution. Ideally, it would swing freely even after I grip it tightly. We’ll see if it breaks in more over time. Fingers crossed.

I have a wave+, never had this happen, also never happens on a rebar I have....my free p2 it does happen, but like you said, I can twist and wiggle and it will loosen....just ordered a charge+ g10, hoping it doesn't have an issue.
