Charger / Challenger Hellcat Thermostat Replacement

We've been doing it this way since at least 2007 and finally got the video needed to share it with you. Should honestly work on all V8 Charger or Challengers. What Part Number is the Motorad Thermostat? I don't see a 185 degree on Rock Auto...Great video - Thanks

Glad you liked the video. Did some checking also and do not see the 185 any longer. Should have been a 5416-185, but I am only seeing a 5511-185. The 5416-180 is also fine as that is the Starting open temp, and will not be fully open until the coolant comes up a bit more in any case.

I see they have a MotoRad 416-192 Thermostat with Seal, that may be better then the 203 temp OEM,,I just don't want to it kicking out codes and don't want to re-tune. I have the Super Charger off right now so it would be an easy change.

@@johndandrea2227 You should be totally safe with the 192 tstat. Without cracking the pcm and resetting fan temps you won't get the full benefit but it will stay lower when at little to no load. They have made tuning quite a pita in the last few years.

Did you not burp the air from the system?

I didn't. Because I never removed or drained the upper hose, it does not air-lock and circulates out in the first drive cycle.

@@XERyder nice, I'm not having the same experience with my trackhawk but burped it and got it sorted out in the end.
