Demonstration and comment on loading the Lee Enfield No. 4 rifle with chargers´ (the British term for stripper clips). Rim lock (also called “rim jam”) is discussed. The rimmed.303 British caliber round requires some special consideration while loading into the Lee Enfield No. 4 rifle either by hand or with a charger.
Rim lock / rim jam: I show and review this phenomenon in the video. Whether or not rim lock occurs after loading your Lee Enfield No 4 using chargers seems more related to the shuffling and transition that can go on as the rounds are transferred from the charger into the magazine. That is why it appears to be a random event, even if one thinks the charger has been loaded by the book.
You can control not getting rim lock by hand loading and paying attention to how the rims are ordered in the magazine stack, but one can also create rim lock during hand loading by inattention and not ensuring the rim of each round is load before the rim of the previous round.
