Greetings from North Pole, Alaska, and while your paint booth is being put together, HVAC down the side and around to the back is probably the right idea. Best to do it now as opposed to figuring out how to do it 6 months from now. And just to let you know, I've been subscribed to your channel for over a year and in the past 6 months, this is my first notification from KZfaq.

just make sure to get a camera pointed at the booth and make sure toothless tanya and her methhead madmen don't try to come in the middle of the night and vandalize it. SERIOUSLY though that is the next step for people like this.

hi. i’m a lighting engineer. often paint booths are equipped with staggered or adjustable color temperatures and VERY high CRI fixtures. the contrast of warm/white color temps is adjusted depending on different colors of paint and the way the color or surface is perceived.

Balancing the air flow is going to be the hardest part, especially since you are modifying from its designed air flow. Probably will need some diffusers and for sure use radius elbows, or duct with turning vanes in them.

What will give you 1: better painting experience, and 2: make it a easier work environment? It is better to put more work into a better paint booth than have paint booth sooner that you will regret not making those changes when you were building it.

Leave the lights in the walls where they are and stick the extraction ducting underneath the wall lighting then you got the best of both worlds lighting where it's needed and the best extraction position and you won't have to send lights back like you were saying.

Jose as someone who has done HVACR for 30yrs. My suggestion 110% is to run the duct below the lights. Keep in mind at each ven thw increase in duct. It will get wider to the building from the booth as it goes back. So you will totally loose that space. I would run the duct down low still. Stay safe and be well. God bless.

Not sure of lean to height, width and max clearance from top of booth to the trusses. Adding a roll up door at entrance to paint booth will add a barrier to rain etc. Just a thought but cost is a factor...

If u flipped the door upside down it would swing to the right so you don't have to go around it every time. That would be way more ergonomically correct. Especially since most people are right handed and that position will force the right hand to grab the handle.

I like the idea leave the lights alone, Cut the side draft into the panels below the lights. Only thing is would the ducting or boxes be a standard size or would they have to be fabricated for the job? Does smaller mean a better pull of the air or would that be the size of fans at the back end your tying into? That or add an extra exhaust fan in the trunk before going into the bigger exhaust area at the end for max air pull. Im sure you already looked into the size and air flow you need, weather you system can handle that.
