WOW!!! Barry! I know this teaching was posted to KZfaq two years ago, but I just now watched it. I’ve read Psalms 37 many times in the past but you really made it come alive for me in such an awesome way. I’m going to read these Psalms 37 verses 3,4,5, in such an enlightened way from now on. Thank you for broadening my understanding of words, how they can be helpful or destructive. Thank you also Julianne for asking the question about thoughts and for the understanding you brought to light where thoughts are concerned. My self talk used to be so negative and so destructive. As I began to let go of the guilt of the past and began to see myself according to who the Word says I am and not past experiences, my self talk began to change. It didn’t happen overnight, but it did change. I don’t know how or when God did it, but I am no longer the person I was. I read Andrew’s book, Self-Centerteredness: The Source of All Grief, and although it was hard to accept many of the things in it, I began to change. My words began to change, I stopped calling myself ugly things and began calling myself what Jesus calls me, a conqueror, strong in Him, able to do all things through Him. Philippians 4 told me what to think on and 2 Peter 1 told me what to add to my faith, and so many other things in His Word. Again, thank you Barry and Julianne for this teaching.

Barry, Thank you! When you expounded on the word "Feed" I immediately thought of my grand dog "Breezy", she is an English Springer Spaniel and has IBS. All she can eat is the exact special kibble every day, boring! She eats 4 times a day and you wouldn't believe how she gets excited on that same old food every day. She looks forward to it and you can almost know what time it is when she stares you in the face = time to eat. And so content afterward. She is committed to eating! Thats how I want to be. Committed, dependent! Your word encouraged me to dwell and meditate on each action word and magnify it, draw out of it -treasures! Get excited about getting in His presence and getting a good meal that satisfies me and makes me content and makes me grow in Him. We don't feed on the same food as Breezy but God has a wealth of all different kinds of food in His Word. We don't need to look anywhere else for true happiness. I had been reading this book and that book, listening to this person and that person but Jesus wanted me to be like Mary, not Martha. I was busy being a Martha, doing this at that. And the true enlightenment was at Jesus feet. Its even a good thing to eat like Breezy does 4 times a day - morning, noon, and night and a snack before bed. Feed on Jesus anytime. He is always there, waiting!

The word "fret" isn't referring to worrying. In Psalm 37:1 "fret" is the Hebrew word "hara" (H2734) and means "To be hot, furious, burn, become angry, be kindled, be incensed". It's the same word translated as "angry" in Genesis 4:5: "...but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell." God is warning us to let go of unrighteous anger because it doesn't accomplish His purposes.

Struggling with doubt, I read of several prominent healing teachers that have died from longterm illnesses or from injuries from an accident even though they preached healing Ruth Carter, Kathryn Kuhlman, A. A. Allen, etc... also why do so many wear glasses if they are walking in divine health?

Allie - I went through this too, and the fact of the matter is - We are human and healing ministers are human too, they have shortcomings, and I think it's easy for them to get into condemnation if they come under attack. Which is just a way to get them out of grace. The bigger thing is, God IS true. He CANNOT lie. and if we aren't to consider our own bodies, but consider him able to perform ALL that He has promised, then we definitely CANNOT allow ourselves to consider other's bodies. Consider Him faithful. End of story. Don't let the enemy trick you into getting your eyes off Jesus and onto man. :)

Do you think the words Amen and praise God can be over used and such a habit for some it becomes meaningless? Especially when saying it in response to a negative because it's such a habit. I don't understand how people can use it after every sentence.
