Black American voter from SC myself. Kinda frustrated that Charlemagne still doesn't seem to understand the difference between Local, State & Federal govt functions. The Constitution gives wide berth for states to govern themselves. Rural individuals suffer mostly bc of their own state's policies. Even white rural farmers are getting wiped out & yet they keep falling for stupid culture wars & keep voting for the same politicians that are creating their circumstances. What's happened in Iowa & other Midwestern states with the destruction of family owned farms, it's maddening. True change often starts at the state level. Gay marriage became legal nationally only after it became legal in a lot of states. Marijuana legalization is on it's way to national legalization bc it's become legal in a majority of states. Interracial marriage, no fault divorce, reproductive rights, I could go on. ALL of these BEGAN at the state level. I love Charlemagne tha God & how he gets our ppl thinking & getting more involved with the democratic process. But brother, ur only half way there...& I'ma need u to get all the way there, quickly please. It's so important to vote in EVERY election on EVERY level of govt, especially at the local & state level.

Republican States have the highest poverty rates, highest unemployed rates, the highest crime rates, the lowest wages, the lowest education & high school graduation rates, the worst healthcare, literally documented lower life expectances than folks in blue states. Red states have higher infant mortality & higher maternal mortality rates, higher fetal abnormalities. I could go on. So please share with me ur brilliant insight as to how rural voters ARE NOT voting against their own interests when they continue to vote for Republicans election after election??? I guess if ur dead set on damning ur family, women, children, wealth & overall well-being just to be racist... well no, even then ur still voting against ur own interest cuz the politicians u vote for don't actually share ur values. If you want to talk about mortality, how many people have died for Joe Biden's war over the sale of Yuzivska gas fields in donbas to Shell in 2013? Do you even know about the Chevron taking the Olesska oil fields in the west in 2010-2014? You realize 1/3 of Russia's energy exports were to Ukraine and the US was pulling it out from under them under democrats. Those same democrats who went to the Ukranian parliment in 2015 and swore we would defend resource production. Those same democrats who hated R's doing war for Oil in Iraq, now doing the EXACT SAME THING in Ukraine. But since its the other tribe, I guess its okay to stupidly repeat our mistakes. Talk about getting fleeced yet you're still wearing the uniparty jersey cheering what the resource owners demand.

We just had Obama for 8 yrs and I didn't consider him the lesser of two evils. And I think a huge portion of the country would agree with me. Maybe he wasn't perfect enough for TYT, which nobody is. These guys could cook up discrepancies for the sun rising every day.

The supreme court is SUPPOSED to lean conservative to add persistence and caution to change. Legislature is SUPPOSED to lean progressive to add change and adaptivity. If you openly advocate for a drastic change to that, you don't want BALANCE, you want DOMINANCE. Learn the very wise reasons for these things before spouting your tribal banner for control. The Senate is 6 years, holding views from then, and the House gets rolled every 2 years making it the most progressive. We also aren’t a merch party. This wasn’t about liking our candidate in 2020 either. We just have to keep moving forward. You can’t get hung up over debate performances with professional liars. This about reproductive rights, lifetime appointments, and actual policy affecting ordinary lives. We just have to continue pushing forward like we have since 18, it’s totally worth it.

It doesn't change the fact that Trump's plans for the country are much worse put the abortion pill and other women's rights to healthcare at great risk. We are in hell. He’s the first person of color to be the U.S. PRESIDENT, but his mother is 100% WHITE! You could just as easily say he’s a white guy. But that’s not how it works for most biracial people. Do you know how many black people i have heard confess that they NEVER voted until Obama was the candidate (even though Hillary won more votes than Obama, but that’s a different messed up election issue.) Imagine Hillary, she garners the most votes in the 2008 Democratic primaries & 3 million more votes than Trump in the general election. So she won more votes TWICE & came home a loser in each of them. There’s something wrong with a system where the candidate that wins more votes, doesn’t always win.

The “lesser of two evils” nonsense is what brought us here . Ive been a registered voter since 1983. Had they not kept shifting the goalposts to keep third parties from being competitive, we would not have reached this inflection point. But, here we are, and project 25 is the sole reason I may vote democrat for the first time in my life. But, whether I vote Green again or not, trust and believe that I will continue to fight for the changes necessary to get us out of this binary. Unfortunately, at least one of the barriers to indy/third party viability at the national level would take an act of Congress to change, and I don’t see that happening until we fill state and local offices with independents.

The Right certainly has an agenda and that's pack the courts from top to bottom with conservative judges and they've been doing it since Trump got elected. The worst things Democrats did was not override them when Republican Congress prevented Obama from appointing his 2nd SCOTUS. I view that today as downright racism, and I wish I would have been Obama, I would have raised hell and found a way to overrule them.

This!! I watched the Breakfast Club and I recall that it was their guest host Tezlyn Fiagro that destroyed Vivek Ramaswamy. Charamagne and DJ Envy weren't prepared and didn't have any good questions for him. That interview blew up, when Vivek came back a 2nd time he was expecting to debate her again but she wasn't on there anymore. The 2nd interview ended up being boring. Charlamagne tha god is not very political savvy, I watched him and Andrew Schultz provide terrible political commentary on their Brilliant Idiots podcast. I honestly feel that the Mainstream Media and TYT are just using him for viewer attention rather than anything he has to contribute to a political discussion.

I hear you. The only question is, in 2016, whether Donald did what he said he would. As a black Republican, he failed me. He lied to us. We (my immediate community in Harlem) cannot support him after what he allowed at the Jan 6 riot. His son and daughter begged him to stop the protest (and the riot). He didn't. He didn't care. The crime and begging people to be loyal to him is so dangerous. He will shut down programs in government departments and allow Putin and others into the WH. We will be destroyed. If he becomes the President who lied, stole documents, and committed a felony, we ARE DOOMED. He will destroy everything while being protected by his DOJ, CSI team, and Judges that he allowed to give him immunity. We are screwed. It's not fair that he is untouchable. We are doomed.

Biden has passed more bi-partisan legislation than any president since Lyndon Johnson. He has given HBCUs more money than the Trump Administration. His attempts to pass the George Floyd bill were stymied by the republican party as has his major attempts to relieve student debt. The black unemployment rate was its lowest ever under the Biden administration. He was responsbile for the child tax credit act which cut child poverty in half (this was not renewed because republicans refused to go along with renewal once it expired, as a result many of the children who were lifted out of poverty slipped back into poverty) Trump on the other hand would eliminate the Affordable Care Act, thus leaving millions of people without health insurance. Under Project 25, he would change the Department Health and Welfare to the Department of Life (a throwaway to his anti abortion crowd.) Under project twenty five, he would fire 50,000 men and women who work for the Federal Government ( under this scenario, a slew of black people would have to go since they comprise a large percentage of those on the civil service register. I could go on and on but you really need to reach project 25. If that doesn't scare you, then nothing will.

Because there is so much money thrown into our elections, billions, we will never get truly remarkable candidates. They can't complete. We need to END Citizens United NOW. We need to follow other democracies -- we should embrace the European model of public financing for political parties so the BEST can run. And we need to short campaign time to under six months. Two plus year campaigns waste a president's time. That person should be focused on the job.
