Fun fact: 🇳🇵 Gorkha came from the Sanskrit word Gau-raksha which literally means the person who protects the Cows. Gau means Cow and Raksha means protection. In Prehistoric & Medieval India, cow was considered as assets and people were engaged to protect it. In specific cases, goddese Gau'rakheswari ( Goddess of the people who protects cow) is worshipped and there is a famous temple in GORAKHPUR (now in Uttar Pradesh state of the Republic of India) as well. The name of the place Gorakhsapur or Gorakhpur is also named after the Goddess. We Indians are proud of our Gorkha brothers and have separate regiment in Indian Army to honour their bravery. I do agree we are strong then why not defend our own country instead of serving others country as a slave?? If some war happens Gurkha’s were the first to go on a war to die that’s unfair ☹️
@athenstar106 жыл бұрын
Agree. Nepal could have the best combat army in the world, why these Brits could not defen their own?

It’s not just the Brits who have Gurkhas

How dare you call the Gurkha Regiment slaves? They are among our finest troops.
@cyb-m6 жыл бұрын
they should come and serve the indian army or nepalese army. instead of serving the colonial masters
@MrPieman006 жыл бұрын
Benefits are shit in the indian or nepalese army. Why do you think these men dedicate their lives for?

MrPieman00 Seriously??, comparing a country 10 times smaller than India?
@MrPieman006 жыл бұрын
Its not a matter of size. If you were form a third world country where would you rather live and retire. India, Nepal or the UK? Serving in the British army gives them higher pay, citizenship and pension after serving.
@chirantanmandal45496 жыл бұрын
MrPieman00 No buddy, India's Per Capita GDP is 10 and 6 times less than that of USA and UK respectively. But the salaries in purchasing power parity is somewhat equal. You can't compare in nominal, coz India is cheap to live. Indian army is paid quite a bit fairly.
@MrPieman006 жыл бұрын
Even still quality of life during and after service is much better. My main point is just that One would rather serve in the British army than any of the other two.
