Remember this from 1975, neither his looks nor clothes sense appealed to me but I could listen to his voice all day long. In particular this song,no one has ever sung this better than him.He deserved more success than he had.

But as its been covered by so many other artists since Charles co-wrote and sang it, I was simply expressing my view that (imo) no one has ever sung it better than Charles. We all have our preferences and opinions. That's mine. I though that I was clear really, but hey! there ya go! 🙄

It is amazing how he handles the English as if he is floating through the words and English is not his language, French being his mother language. His diction, enunciation is perfect and I can understand each word as if he was a born English speaker. This is how a true professional singer makes himself the best,

I asked my Mum what is the meaning of the song, and she told me that every Man has only one true Love in his life, and that even if he has lots of love affairs, always in his heart is that one and only 'she'...........the woman he can not forget.
