@scimbrelo
@scimbrelo Ай бұрын
@@nicklubrino2606a lot of jobs have paid vacation, so if you wanted to make that argument, youd have to look at the average paid vacation amount for a job with similar requirements (bachelors degree+ certification at minimum, 50% have masters degree, etc) and then calculate the differential in both the vacation and annual salary. Median teacher salary in usa yearly is, rounded up- $63k. So if youre going to look into the concept in totality, rather than isolate one aspect, it's not really that big a deal.

Charles tells like it is. In an another interview, Charles wanted to take harder classes at Auburn University. They told him “No, you might flunk. Then, you can’t play basketball anymore.” Charles says he’s fortunate to play in the NBA, but 90% of college basketball players won’t make it in the NBA. What type of education did they get in college? Charles says that without a college degree, life will be an uphill battle. That is so true.

And more WNBA players/fans. Just because something isn't fair (wnba salaries to NBA salaries) doesn't mean you deserve something for nothing. The NBA went through a LOT to get to this point. 30 years in, Magic and Bird came along and raised the popularity in the USA. Michael took their baton and made it global. Hopefully, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese can be the WNBA's "Bird & Magic."

It's about scarcity and capitalism. An NBA player is in demand and much rarer than a teacher or nurse. The best ones are so rare that only about 10-30 of them are on the whole planet. This is what kills me about some of the women of the WNBA and Caitlin Clark. When Larry Bird went into the NBA, the only thing the people playing wanted to know was: "can he play at our level?" Yes, it was about color, because most of them hadn't met a white guy who could play at that level. (Makes me hope that Angel Reese, who is competitive and not antagonistic, will make that leap with Ms. Clark.) Everyone always talks about "Magic and Larry." Sure, they were great and had two differing game styles. However, my favorite is still Larry Bird against Dominique Wilkins. That fourth quarter shoot-out was the best basketball game ever.

He's 55 and from a small town in Georgia. I'm roughly his age, and grew up in a small town in Alabama, and though there weren't laws forbidding blacks from doing certain things, there was cultural norms that kinda prevented it. I'm white, and I remember going into town with my parents in the 1970's and there was certain diners and grocery stories that blacks didn't go to. They weren't forbidden by law, but it was just known that they couldn't go in there. If they did, they wouldn't be served.

I'm curious how much Shannon paid Charles to be on this interview. Must be at least a million.

Guys aren't more skilled today then decades past, the game was changed 20 years ago to allow more freedom of movement to make the game more entertaining. During the 80s and 90s defenders were allowed to play more physical, they could put their hand on you and control your movements. Now, that would be a foul.

This is such a long-winded answer. Imagine playing with the equipment avaliable, the conditions of the world, the medical experience and still averaging 50,20,10 like Wilt did? I know he played against midgets smfh. As an adult play with and against 7th graders and average those numbers. Then get back to me

Like always Charles Barkley is wrong 😅 Moses Malone and Bill Walton were paid by the Rockets and Trailblazers 1M in 79-80 season.

If we're going to summarize the essence of all what Chuck said, that's exactly the reason why we shouldn't make LBJ the GOAT
