Chuck had a inferiority complex. I still don’t know if his fake allergy to electricity came from Chronic OCD or just in his imagination due to stress. But not only did he resented Jimmy but he truly believe that criminals don’t change. When Jimmy became a lawyer, Chuck became even more hateful toward him because he believe that a recipe for disaster. Which at the end, he was right. Finally, as for Chuck actually loving his brother or not we’ll probably never know. Chuck is just that much of a complex character.

If Chuck had been satisfied with being a respected and admired lawyer and not jealous of Jimmy's popularity and their parents love of him things might not have ended up how they did.

Michael's Chuck McGill was vital to the show of Better Call Saul... it's why he had to come back, even in flashback, for the series finale . The Chicanery episode is top tier eps of the show... probably top 5 or even top 3 that best represent the show, that doesn't have to rely on its connection to Breaking Bad.

After watching for the second time, I’ve noticed how Chuck is so desperate to only see Jimmy as the scheming manipulative con man, that he can’t see that *HE’S* also a scheming manipulative con man too, but he’s privileged enough to be able to use legal means to do it. Jimmy may be able to physically steal from people and con people out of the contents of their wallet, but Chuck has stolen people’s large clients and cases, which does literally take money from them (people who arguably need it more than he does), and he schemed against Jimmy in an attempt to have him disbarred. He even manipulated Howard’s loyalty in order to make him be the bad guy in his bid to keep Jimmy out of HHM

I am not crazy!! Chuck had the battery in his breast pocket but it wasn't powering anything, so that could explain why he didn't realize it was there. It's only when the current flows out of the battery that it might affect Chuck. Alternating current hurts Chuck, not really Direct current. So the battery is pretty minor to his disease anyway. Its astonishing how polarizing the question is, whose guilt the development was. You see comments like "Look how Chuck was right with everything he said" to comments like that one, that paints Chuck as a complete psychopath. I wonder about it, because the show presents us enough hints that we will never get the full truth and its clear that its something in between the extreme positions. This video completely misses the point that Chuck's feeling for Jimmy are ambivalent. You see Chuck putting a pillow under the head of his exahusted brother and cover him with a blanket when he fell asleep. You have several moments, which show that Chuck cares for his brother (the last scene in season 6, e.g.) and the negative feelings referred to in this video are only one side of the story. Do you think its a coincidence that the scene in the tent is shown before and that Chuck looses control completely after he said his last words to his brother? Both of the McGills are difficult characters with a dark side. As different as they are, there are things they have incommon. They manipulate and abuse other people beyond limits and cannot deal with their emotions especially guilt, which brings them down further and further.

Your explanation about Sandpiper is way off. Chuck didn't betray Jimmy, he pointed out that the case was going to be huge, requiring dozens of lawyers and paralegals in order to bring it to fruition. Chuck reasoned with Jimmy and Jimmy grudgingly agreed because in his heart he knew that Chuck was right.

The thing is if Chuck actually let Jimmy thrived then he wouldn't of have gone through the Walter White path which lead onto killing a total of 12 people or so.
