15 жыл бұрынIt's me playing my Yamaha P140 digital piano again, but there's no usual video this time. It was too hot outside to bake myself under the offhand lighting system.
Listen to my rendetion of famous Gounod's Ave Maria. Actually Gounod copied J. S. Bach's prelludium, added text and solo melody. But it's nice and really well-known piece.
Be sure to choose high quality link under video (if available) to hear much better stereo sound. I optimized this video for the best possible sound, picture quality wasn't important.

Possibly one of the best versions of Ave Maria that I have ever heard, I have searched and searched for a comparable and can’t find one that makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and brings out so much emotion as this. I would love it on my downloads

Agree 100%. Although Vavilov's - Caccini's is absolutely beautiful, I live Bach's Gounod's very much more. It's sublime! ❤

This is one of the main reasons why I love classical music. This music was so largely different from today yet it is the origin of wat music is now. It was just playing the piano their own style of playing and theusic itself had a tone and a message behind each musical piece. Beautiful

Thank you so much for recording this. I first heard this on a small European music box my father and mother played each Christmas. It haunted me always. NIce to know the composer and hear it played so lovingly with expertise.

Really? Since that time, I have produced a version very close to this, but played solo by myself. Just look under William Zucker - Classical - and you'll find it. It's the second one in that album. See what you think. Of course, it's under my user name, alger3041.

The melody was entirely composed by Gounod. The harmonic structure was borrowed from Bach.

J. Bach - Preludes and Fugues: Book 1 (1722 app.) and Book 2 (1742 app.) titled the well Tempered Clavier. In 1822 app., 100 years later - Schubert combined Bach Prelude 1 from book one for cello and piano, with excerpts from the poem by Sir Walter Scott 'Lady of the lake'. Originally called Ellen's third Song. In 1859 app., Gounod, used Ave Maria (Hail Mary) prayer for his composition and is the correct Ave Maria- Bach/Gounod. Schubert's Ave Maria is the misnomer - many get wrong.

Interessante que as duas ave Marias são parecidas e diferentes ao mesmo tempo, ouvindo essa de Gounot nos parece mais bela, mas ao ouvir a de Schubert também parece que aquele é mais bela, coisas que só a música clássica pode proporcionar.
