Very nice presentation. I wish Peale had either the time or the skills to paint some of his other subjects in such exquisite detail and amazing realism. This portrait is nearly photographic and, in my humble opinion, way ahead of it's time. I can only imagine, say, a Washington portrait done at this extraordinary level. Alas.

This is a lovely way to round out Black History Month. ❤ I don't blame Peale for wanting to know Yarrow - I'd love to speak with someone like him and learn what I can. I stopped being surprised about his age and positivity when I heard about his faithfulness to God. It totally made sense. It's nice to hear about one great man honoring another and how one of them chose to honor God. Peale himself was a PYT in his own day, I can't pretend I didn't see him, lol (3:55). 🤭
