The biggest difference in Charleston and Savannah is Charleston has almost zero shade on the street. Savannah has live oaks providing shade.

This was definitely NOT a hood tour!! You drove around the same streets on the East side over and over again passing houses that sell from 1/4 to a million dollars.

Doesn't look too bad to me. I don't see any graffiti all over the place and that's always a tell-tale sign that you are not in a great area. Most houses look cared for and well painted, not a lot of trash laying around in the street.

America St. Was the only hood area you were in. Hit Spruil, Attaway, Ranger drive and places like kent Ave. That areas population has been pushed out to North Charleston and ducked off in to little hoods like back behind the Airport. Charleston is gentrification at it's finest

Charleston South Carolina is the most beautiful place to live in South Carolina state ,,, Downtown Charleston is very historic and beautiful and surrounded by water and boats it's gorgeous, what you consider a hood is not really a hood in Charleston South Carolina it's very clean laid bcak and a great place to raise a family ,, great country living .....nice sizeable city in SC not big and not 2 small just right in between.

Many streets are narrow because they were laid out in the 1700s. Some buildings are from that era as well. Looks fine to me, and the ocean isn't far away. Bonus!
