Property tax is way worse than the income tax. Property tax is the most regressive tax and it's also arbitrary based on a random valuation of your home. If my home isn't for sale, it doesn't have a price, that valuation is ridiculous. If a storm hits the economy, I could lose my home because I still have to pay taxes on my property which isn't producing anything. It's an awful, awful tax. It seems to me that the questioner was trying to get at the fact that government schools are a socialist institution and would not exist in a capitalist society. The issue of cost is always brought up when abolishing government schools is proposed. An important fact is that having government operate schools does not reduce cost, it increases cost. And the quality of the service is not very good. But the biggest reason to get government out of education is that government schools are more about propaganda and indoctrination than about education. We need a free market in education.

Back when schools were held in churches the schools were funded by local businesses and donations from citizens.

You should ONLY have "Property Tax" if you are "paying" on the home, or it's NOT your "Primary Residence". Once your primary home is Paid Off, you no longer pay Tax on it. The only tax that is ok is a sales/consumption tax. When you buy something new you pay a tax on that. No other taxes ever. Income tax is illegal and needs to go. Yes, we need to abolish all federal production taxes (taxes whose cost are embedded into domestic production making domestic product more expensive when compared to imports). We can have a federal retail sales tax that collects tax on consumption of domestic and imports the same. Property tax, car tax,food tax, water tax fuck I argued with the supermarket, that they tax the amount of the price of beer after they add in the price of recycling of the cans… So they get an extra two cents or three cents but why are they taxing the recycle price. They’re just adding one to the price of something and then they tax it. I don’t give a shit if it gets recycled.
