Not a builder, but ran a factory making windows conservatories, bespoke shaped stuff etc for years. + Pus fitting etc. Came across your channel by chance and I keep watching. It's good to realise that although there's the age old thing of pass blame down the line scenario. There's STILL some very good tradesmen that keep up their end! ( There's no such thing as bad students, only bad teachers! ) 80% of that is leading by example and it's good to watch. I appreciate watching something and actually learning for a change. Many thanks

there are different types of underpinning one yes you can dig out the foundation old houses were just built on the flat surface of muck you get raft foundation and floating raft and solid well there are all sorts of foundations yeah that method he said is used but the must common one is drilling holes in the bricks every brick along sub foundation is pressure filled with resin waterproofing the bricks you see if you look at any muck mix the only thing holding them together is the water bonds in the mix when the water dry out it crumbles that why houses only last 50 years :) they dry out and fall back into the stuff you started with :)

We use the dolly blocks but only really use them on the cut ups. But only just brought them week n half ago, been stuck in cut ups so have to give them a go when we start the fresh plots, hopefully they can work good. Quicker we lay more we getting paid

Jamie was pretty much right, It was 1 meter you dig out then you leave 2 meters then dig another meter out depending on engineers drawings. Then 600 deep, and with a key hole left so then you can interlock the footings together

Charlie for F sake, get in the habit, of once you lay, excess muck is trowel of and put it back onto the board, not on everything around , less time cleaning up at the end of the day. An retired Bricklayer who worked all over, including AUSTRALIA, Howay Man.
