Prince Johnson the vocal effect is vibrato, where her pitch is modulating above and below the pitch she’s singing. It’s basically like any waveform. I assume her lip movements just naturally help produce it. Straight tone singing on the contrary is found in historic Gregorian chant, where they sing the pitch and it’s very straight, no tremble, wobble, or feelings of pulsing modulations

@@roberts6644 Basically correct, but I was taught "below the pitch" only, as the higher pitch sounds as the true note.

Honestly, her shaky jaw reveals tension and forced vibrato. She is talented and lovely, however she needs some vocal instruction on how to produce the beautiful sounds without such destructive tension. It looks exhausting. Other great singers do not do that as it is a bad habit. Yes, I am classically trained with 2 degrees and 18 years at University as a Vocal Instructor. I am not meaning to offend but if she was in my Voice Studio that would be lesson one. Still a lovely rendition of a glorious song!

The tension in her jaw is destructive and one should wish her a long career, without mandibular consequences! We both should agree to wish her health that manifests after healthy technique, not ignore the obvious and cry when she ends her singing life, due to multiple issues present in her forced vibrato.
