Yeah well Shonda never claimed any historical accuracy in her shows. I don’t get why people seem to not get the difference between period dramas and documentaries. There are many shows loosely based on people who existed in real life and nobody seems to mind. Even the Bible comes to mind in that department lol but with Bridgerton people are VERY salty about the historic inaccuracies 😂 it’s obviously fiction, why wouldn’t they take artistic freedom? With Hamilton nobody complains about Charlottes and George’s depiction

She was not allowed to go down any stairs by herself, someone had to always hold her hand. She also shared her bedroom with her Mother. It wasn't until she became Queen that she had any freedom. She never had any experience with children, except her Mother's ideas. Victoria knew little of childbirth and raising babies. Prince Albert spent more time with their children.

@@westzed23 It's pretty well documented that she disliked them into adulthood, not just as babies. She was a control freak, she might have had her first taste of freedom when she turned 18, but her children kept having to fight for theirs. By all accounts, she was a pretty horrible woman. I don't have much sympathy for her. Regardless of tragic backstorys, some people are just cruel.

Both had marriages with men they actually loved (who didn't try to behead them) as well.

This would have been interesting in the show - but would be a bit contradictory to Queen Charlotte’s character in the show and probably hard to convey in the little segments covering this. If they do a season 2 it would be nice to see this explored.

​@@anam4484 Oh, the reason why I assumed that it's probably not true, is because when I watched the Queens and Consorts of England series, I remember hearing that Queen Charlotte's African ancestry would've been less than one percent if it was known for sure due to her supposed ancestor being separated from her by about 500 years I believe. But I'm not an expert on genealogy, so I might be completely wrong here. 😅
