One of the most virtuosic bassists of the 21st century, Charnett Moffett (known for his work with Wynton Marsalis, Ornette Coleman, McCoy Tyner and Stanley Jordan) stands strong as a composer, master technician and relentless innovator on upright, fretless and piccolo basses. On 'The Art of Improvisation' Moffett leads a stellar band on a spirited journey through Indian, Tibetan, free jazz and jazz fusion territories. Special guests: Will Calhoun & RealWorld recording artist Yungchen Lhamo (dubbed ' The Voice of Tibet' by the Dalai Lama) will attract World and Rock enthusiasts.

For what he does, he may be the best I have ever seen! I opened for him and Stanley Jordan in Chicago. He might be the baddest Bass player I have ever seen live! He can hang with ANYONE . Not many of the most famous bassists in the world can do what he does. He plays music, not just virtuosic noise

Enjoyed the sitar sound images. I've dabbled in grooves over westernized, Punjabi drum loops. Nothing compared to the solo stylings on this piece. Great work!

I attended LaGuardia High School of Music & the Arts with Charnett. He was always such a nice person. He was wise and sage beyond his years.
