i have been using the Cichlid pellets -the rift lake Green but would like to know if i couldchange over tothe Rift Lake RED?

Will depend on the species of cichlid you have Frans, just try to feed the correct diet (herbivore/carnivore etc) to each different species

Didn't they used to be "New Era"? I can highly recommend the LPS Pellets, fish ignore them and the corals seem to enjoy them :)

Yes used to be called New Era, now Vitalis to avoid any confusion! As you said Andrew, new(ish) coral foods are really great!
