Also play them free of those other speakers right at their sides, if possible move them in another room. They create baffle extension, diffraction, and low level resonances. The Chartwell veneer will possibly become bit more orangey with time from exposure to light.

Excited to see these have arrived mate. I like the sound already. Maybe that Cherry finish will darken a bit in time and more closely match your Spendors. Anyway exciting times.

Why do used Chartwell LS3/5A speakers command much higher prices than LS3/5As made by the other companies (Rogers, Goodman, Spendor etc)? Aren't they all supposed to be made to the same specs?

it looks very similar to that of Wilmslow audio, you can buy a assembled pair for £600 I think a lot cheaper if you just buy the kit

Would surprise me if break-in will substantially increase the LF (to the point that it can compete with the Falcons).

Hi Ditton, today i testing in my room Harbeth P3esr XD, from seating position to speakers about 2,5-3 meters, soind quite good, but i putted them nearfield, wow, magic came here. So my question would spendor in same distance would sound approximate same involving as P3esr in nearfield, or it is just magoc of ls3/5a design? I wait also for falcon ls3/5a golden badge! Just want to be sure, maybe should give spendor 2/3 a chance if i would get something like nearfield from P3esr. Now i understand when you done demo why was siting so close :)))) thanks for your videos mate ;)

I read online that the ls3/5 has a fuller & richer midrange than the 3/5a which in turn had better detail retrieval. Is that your prognosis as well?

Chartwells look the prettier speaker, the Falcons are pig ugly without the covers on, I know the Falcons are voiced with the covers on, which is how I use mine.
