Thing is Claypool is not a blocking WR. Being in Chicago you don't have a qb who cant read man or zone defense then he runs so you block downfield. The only passing game are screens and check downs. All those blocking take their toll on receivers as they are not built for that. Bears need a qb.

Bears staff knows Fields doesn't read the open recievers fast enough. So they try to compensate with screens. Nagy knew this too, which is why he didn't want to start him. Opposing defenses know this too. All this adds to making line look worse than they are. Most qbs get rid of ball mostly in 2.5 seconds. Fields wants 4 seconds. Never gonna happen in the NFL. Recievers are open, b4 he starts running. Hope he gets it together or else.

Fields time to throw in that game was 2.95, not good but definitely not 4. And many of those throws were under pressure, 3 times defenders were completely free. Fields may be bad but that o-line is still absolute shit at pass protection. Couple that with a receiver that won't try, a sad offensive game plan and a dumpster fire defense and there's plenty of blame to go around

"Highway robbery" is an extremely kind assessment! Claypool is trash, and in need of a very serious attitude adjustment. Not likely to happen. What is likely to happen is being cut/traded, failing again, and then out of the league forever. Working at Home Depot follows, then his termination for refusing to help a customer by getting something from top shelf storage...

The Bears overall looked lackluster against the Packers; so to single Claypool out seems prim, even callous. Moreover the Bears management has an abysmal record in drafts and trades - so this isn't any surprise to their jaded fans. The Bears are not going to win 5 games this season - look for another round of hand wringing and wholesale change. But what really has to change is the team ownership - sell the Bears to someone who gives a damn.

Both Juju and Chase are victims of Mike Tomlin's lack of discipline when developing these two players. Often Mike takes an elite young athlete, and instead of disciplining them to be responsible men, placates and makes excuses for them and create spoiled children. The results are everywhere and Mike Tomlin is responsible for trying to be a therapist, social worker and daddy instead of a coach. Young men like Chase and Juju needed their butts kicked not ego's stroked. Mike Tomlin must go.

As a player from the highlights I just seen in Pitt he looked fine! Also looks like he was being used different! Maybe he was head case so Pitt let him go! But look at the numbers DJ just put up with the bears! Lol will we be saying he's a bust soon!? Or is the coaching staff putting receivers and players in a position to succeed!?!? Honestly I don't think the bears coaching staff knows what the hell they're doing!!

I seen that too fields stinks he can run but he's nothing but another kordell Stewart, the reason everyone in Chicago is making excuses for him they are so desperate to finally get their guy at qb right they can't admit they failed again. Fields is a turnover machine, misses reads runs well but will put the ball on the ground too much for the amount of times he scrambles. He also doesn't have enough zip on alot of throws. Yes the o line stinks but so does he and Claypool has given up on this team because he's a cocky arrogant peice of trash so he thinks he's better than the bears. Until he gets cut and find himself back in Canada in the cfl.making 80 grand a year Canadian.

@@trevorharris1190 My seats since 1984is are right behinf the players, and we saw Claypool yeaaling at Fields that he is beating the defeder every play, wide open and never even look where I am. Then he told Fields that this is not college and you can't get away with looking at your first target and run without checking all the players open. Last year we had 3 players in the top 50 of seperating from defender and had the the best catch percentage of dropping ball at 0.9% when the leaguenavg is 5% drops.. So saying he passes a lot less passes but it is the percentage, not the actual number of throws. Claypool had a game over 100+ yards with the Back up playing. I doubt Fields will pass probably never pass to him after he chewed him out.. but Fields will be gone before his rookie contract ends.

If you’re not going to positively contribute by catching the ball and getting YAC, then you better make up for that deficiency by being great at other things like blocking and running your route to keep your defender focused on you. Being bad at all those things equates to a fast ticket out of town.

If I was on a team where I was the 2nd or 3rd read where the second read was thrown to only 7 times, I would not want to be there. He was targeted 2 times and both times there were 5 defenders charging him nehind the line of scrimmage. I have no clue why you would throw to Claypool behind the line. They have mooney for that. He does not want to play for Fields.... Claypool caught for over 100 yards as a Bear when the 2nd string QB was in. Claypool gets wide open but Fields never looks at him. This was the reason for the outburst last year.
