The song was written from the dog's perspective. Chase stated that he cried the whole time he was writing this song on his acoustic guitar. The song touches your heart and soul.

Man. I had not heard this song, and it had me bawling even before I realized it was from the doggo's perspective. And then I REALLY lost it. My rescue dog saved my life during a time when I couldn't find any reason, beyond her, to stick around. She passed a little over a year ago. She was the best girl ever. I've since adopted my first ever puppy, and raising him has been incredible. I didn't think I could love another dog as much as I loved my Messy girl, but I do. I am Arlo's person, and he lets me know constantly how much he adores me. So this song hit the feels both ways for me. Messy's gift, and Arlo's love.

I feel that. I lost my German shepherd back in September. I had him since I was 5. He was my best friend for as long as I can remember. I love my puppy so much much but I still can’t love him more than my shepherd. I’ve had my black lab for a year and he picked up so much from my shepherds, so he reminds me so much of them both.

First dog I had, I swore I could never love any other dog as much as I loved him.. now that I'm on my own, alone in the world, I have a new dog that's all mine and I love her more than anything else in the world. I didn't realize I could love with all of my heart in different ways

Thank you for doing this reaction! I'm a Chase Rice fan so I was all over this song when it came out. What inspired this was a true story about his friend who was holding a gun to his own head when his dog came up to him and just gave him a look, and that saved his life. I lost my lab of almost 14 years a little over a year ago and I miss him every day. This song is truly special.

This song tears me up every time. Lost two buddies this year & got me a black lab. No doubt Moose has saved my life.. living on my own now many miles away from anyone I know. Him and I just hop in my truck and go for a drive and its the best therapy in the world. Seeing the smile on his face with his head out the window could make the sadest man have a smile. Amazing song

I was pretty alone when my dog wandered into my life. Nobody's perfect but for some reason she sure things I am, so for now I'm gonna work on being the person she thinks I am. So far so good

Chase wrote this song because of his friend who was about to kill himself. He had the gun to his head and everything then his friends dog came over to him and laid his head down on his lap. That made him think of his dog which ended up saving his life. He then went to Chases house and told him what had happened so he lived at chases house for a while until his mental health was better. The guy is living a great life right now with a wife and kids. Chase asked him if he could make a song based off of his story and he said go ahead. So this is how this song was made.

I saw this guy at a festival in Ohio. His band’s bus got caught up in traffic from an accident so he played an entire concert with just him and an acoustic. It was great. Ultimate respect for this guy

In 2021, I lost my best friend of 15 years. We rescued him from basically death. He always was there for me through every single up and down in my life and I never fully understood the impact I made on him until hearing this song. Fantastic reaction to it.

This one hits hard, I'm a massive dog lover, my dog Wendell is a Huge part of my Life, my family's life and my KZfaq channel and comes with me on all my ATV/camping trips, and on those ATV trips it's just him and I. The ending caught me off guard for sure...... What a tune.

This is such a beautiful unique song because it's coming from the dog's perspective. You can tell how old I am by looking at all my animal's graves. They're all special in their own way. I know Jesus loves us. Sure hope we have our dog's in heaven with us. Nice review...

Chase Rice's new song "Bench Seat" is actually about addictions and mental illnesses. But the dog is the one talking. Animals take care of people when things get rough but yet people take care of Animals. All of Chase Rice's songs on this new album are Awesome.

As a struggling alcoholic that has been in and out of AA, this song hit really hard. Spent the last 17 years farming, growing corn, soybeans, hogs and cattle. The only thing I can say brought me genuine joy was having my dogs with me. Steve Buscemi says in 28 days "And my rule of thumb is, when you get home, get yourself a plant. I like spider plants, but whatever turns you on. Then, in about a year, get a pet. And then, if, in say two years, the plant and the pet are still alive, then you can start to think about having a relationship." This video paints a perfect picture of what we all want at the end of the day.. Its just harder for some of us to achieve than others.

I love this song so much. It made it more emotional to him (I think) that one of the dogs is his dog, Jack, and she named their son, Danny. The album cover is a photo of Chase's dad, Daniel. So it all ties together. The song is from the dog's perspective. I also think (not sure if it's confirmed, it's why he wrote it) one of his friends committed suicide, so it's another way to bring awareness to addictions/suicide, because even accidental suicide is still suicide.
