Both the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card and the Chase Ritz Carlton credit card are fantastic cards! Both are they worth keeping both? Which card offers the best value? We will find out in this detailed video which card offers the absolute best value and which card is not making the cut.

I agree Dom. The Ritz card is a much better value overall for the reasons you just mentioned. The CSR does have a nice 3X Travel multiplier, but you could still use the CSP and get similar value for a lot lower annual fee. Great video!

I cancelled my CSR this summer after 4 years but am keeping my RC card, for the reasons you stated. I will apply for a new CSP with SUB in October.

After 4 years is a good time since if you were to decide to reapply, you’d be eligible for a welcome offer! After this year, I’ll be downgrading. I only went for the CSR to see if I’d even be approved for that tier of a card, otherwise I would’ve just done the CSP

The Ritz card is absolutely insane to me. The only downside is you have to like Marriot. This card literally feels more luxurious than the Plat. It gives you a hotel stay and status while giving you all the great travel perks...for cheaper. Like wtf this card has be to nerfed soon.

If I were to upgrade my Marriott to the ritz Carlton credit card does that affect my 5/25 rule or no? Also , great video as I plan to do the same !

Upgrading to the Ritz card doesn’t add your 5/24. If you do upgrade, make sure to do so just after your cards annual anniversary so you don’t miss out on the 35k free night certificate

@PointsPlayTravel Nice Video Dom. I am planning to get one of these two cards since they are both really good. I am new to the credit card game and had Amex Gold,bilt, and Venture X as my main travel cards. I don't have any Chase cards at the moment, which is another reason I want to get one before I hit the 5/24 Chase rule. RC is overall better for me, but it takes at least one year before it can be PC; CSR is harder to adjust the AF compared to RC, but it's a Chase premium card that earn and use Chase UR point while also the 3x on other airline/travel is really nice. Since Both cards will give me unlimited access to Sapphire Lounge (based in Boston), it will make it even harder for me to decide on which card I am getting. Any suggestions?

If you’re based in Boston, the CSR becomes a no brainer. The visits to the Sapphire lounge will definitely make up for the price difference between the CSR and the RC. You’ll definitely gain a lot of positive value from the CSR

Nice video, this card is in my radar but the points earning are still with marriott? both have great insurance coverage, is one better than the other in terms of insurance?

I believe the insurance provided by both is the same. Also neither of these cards come with cell phone protection. The ritz card earns Marriott points, but pairing the ritz card with a CSP is the beat way to go to capitalize on all benefits when referring to this video

The fact that a card works better for you, doesn't make it a better one overall. For me make no sense having multiple premium travel cards in your personnal setup, because you won't make enough points to justify each annual fee. CSR is a card for people that only make purchases with it, or that have different ones with no annual fee to earn more points, and use them along with this one to get all the luxurius benefit that this card offer. CSR by itself have more value, but is recommended to have a high income to have one in your wallet. At the end of the day, is the top-tier premium cc that Chase offer. It's not for everyone.

Either one of these cards works better in everyone’s own unique circumstances. Like they say, your mileage may vary. Though, when you compare just these two cards against each other, there’s a lot of overlap. I’m not sure how much you watched, but I broke down the details of both cards, and for me, since I travel with points, I’d prefer the Ritz Card paired with a CSP which that combo is still technically cheaper than just a CSR
